Each term refers to the organelle that creates a boundary between the inside of the cell and the outside environment that helps to maintain homeostasis within the cell. If you research each term, you will find the same definitions.
Everything I read has a completely different definition for the organelles. Even between my lecture and lab class materials it's inconsistent. Makes it hard to figure out what's important to remember for the test when you collect over a page worth of notes for each organelle, and your outline is practically a copy of the chapter. My bio teachers don't seem to be a fans of putting things into layman's terms. They just ramble off words that I have to look up later. Maybe YouTube can help...
