  • Hi Marty, what looper do you use? I have an RC20XL. Its great for jamming and trying out new solo stuff over chords.

  • Sounds like jazz, in a good way

  • I learn so much great stuff from you....Thanks a million

  • loved what u did at the beginning man! awesome! really great i would love to learn how to play that..awesome stuff!

  • if my music ever becomes great. i will credit you for your amazing teaching skills

  • Marty standing up and playing. Thats the holy grail!

  • Very nice. Simple and useful, actually in the nature of a "trick" to most intermediate players.

  • Marty your Vidal to guitar players! Love these bids! Really helping me put it all together! Now if someone could help me learn how to gain speed!!! Anyone have any suggestions?

  • what looper are you using marty?

  • Awesome. This makes a lot of sense. It would be great to do a video explaining what exactly arpeggios are and how to apply them with references to relative majors and minors. Keep up the good work and keep 'em coming Marty. Thanks so much.

  • wow sounds awesome

  • That arpeggio - it's the god-damn Goonies theme!

  • Why does Marty always nearly fall over when he uses his loop pedal!

Another great technique lesson, thanks. Also, love the change in sound context at 3:45. Amazing how the brain works eh!?

  • he keeps on falling because he's all liqoured up, its a wonder he can stand. jk

  • Really cool ! don't totally get to grips with Arpegios, but I will definitely se this in my playing ! Sorry rated this badly by accident.

  • Second best part of this vid was when you sang the A minor chord: "gwhah" haha

Best part was the actual video, great stuff as usual Marty.

  • Very cool!

  • Nice

  • Great thanks....How about some ideas of the 4 5 chords in blues too. Cheers i got some cool stuff out of this

    Thanks again

    Toby

  • the CMaj7 also works over FMajor7 and D7(11)

    On Fmaj7 you get the 5th, 7th, 9th and #11

    On D7(11) you get b7th, 9th, 11th, and 13th

Excellent video. Thinking of chord tones when improvising definitely adds color and sophistication to your playing.

    Peace

  • yah I was going to add that to the annotations, i just picked the 2 most obvious applications. thanks for adding more info!!!1

  • another cool thing is to play B minor pentatonic over C major7 and you get the #4 and maj7 - but i'm shure you probaly know that...being a Scofield fan.

    cool vid!

  • crazy how much you can do with concepts, people really miss out when they only learn where to put their fingers and not how to think about it. thanks for the feedback
