  • lol, a paradox!!

  • As much as i love this theme park getting rid of this ride was THE STUPIDEST THING THEY COULD OF DONE!

  • @michealjacksonfan21 At least there is one in existence in Japan!

  • WTH???NOO I MISSED IT!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY WHY?!>!?!!?

  • I seem to never get tired of bitching about how this ride closed. I mean how could the powers-that-be even remotely conceive the idea of closing such an awesome attraction. Although as much as BTTF has been and always will be a big part of my life, I should probably just move on and Simpson's Ride a go.

  • That guy that yelled, "make a prequel!" needs to get decked upside the head...leave the trilogy alone, it's perfect just the way it is. If it were to be touched, altered, added on, or remade, it would just be like all the other trash of today. Cherish original cinema for what it's worth, for films like these aren't made to have the kind of genuine creativity that BTTF had. By the way, thanks for the memories, BTTF: The Ride!

  • I found out about Back to the Future JUST after this ride closed...:(

  • I can't believe they closed down Back To The Future The Ride. That was my favorite ride. "Great Scott!"

  • Comment removed

  • They should of never closed it! For what????.... Stupid Simpons ride? I heard it sucked! Bring back .... Back to the future!!!

  • Don't knock it till you tried it. I tried it. It was "okay".

  • My childhood is back to the future.. it is a true shame that I can't show my future kids how amazing that was...

  • damn it, the guy playing Doc hear yelped "Great Scott!" more times than in the first hour of the first movie. 10 yard penalty!

    true shame that ride closed

  • i will never go back to universal i only went for the institute of future science.

  • 3:47. Great Scott! It IS a paradox! ;)

  • oh god that dude is a terrible doc..poor chris has to endure that LOL

  • i miss u bttf the ride

  • Sad...

  • well that had to close this ride eventually because imagine if it was around in 2016 then wat?

  • I never even got to ride it...

  • same here

  • why would they close such an excellent ride...i miss it so much and i entered 2 win the delorean about 100 times and i didnt win anything. i really miss that ride!

  • well my friends mom works for universal in california and they closed it because it was too old. which got me sooo pissed off because it was my first and favorite ride there!

  • i kno. BTTF is my favorite movie and I loved this ride 2 death. why...

  • FANTASTIC!

  • this fake doc sounds a lot like Christopher Lloyd!

  • I DID! TWICE!

  • Me too!

  • Back to the Future Press Event

  • Me too, I don't really like this Doc... Why isn't it M. Lloyd as Doc?

  • why couldnt Chris Lloyd be in the DeLorean as Doc?:( I dont like this Doc wannabe.

  • Becoz Chris Lloyd for one is not a stunt driver to do that little trick with the car where he spun out and or insurance perposes, secondly he is a highly paid actor and was only there as a cameo press shot. The look alike makes pennies compared to Chris Lloyd.

  • yes, I know that. I just wished that Lloyd was dressed as Doc one last time.

  • It would have been cool for Christopher Lloyd to dress up as Doc. Christopher Lloyd is the man. He made the movie great. I love his famous line, "1.21 Gigawatts."

  • They gave out a DeLorean?! Whoooa-hooo, I better track down the winner and kill them ^_^

  • Nah, I'm just kidding :P

  • I NEVER EVEN RODE IT:((((

  • HAHA! I DID! TWICE!

  • "Yeah you better not drop it this time." LOL

  • JOHNNY B.GOODE!!!

  • I heard they're replacing it with a Simpsons ride...

  • :(:(:(:(

  • they need to make bttf game

  • they already did sort of. it's a minigame based on the ride which is in Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure for the GameCube

  • i mean one for like ps3 and xbox

  • they haven't yet, but i hope that if they do make one, it doesn't turn out as crappy as the NES and Sega Genesis games did

  • yeah lol

  • Maybe something like what they're doing to Ghostbusters?

  • i never got to ride the damn thing either.. argh!

  • nooo i shoulda been there its my dream to see chis lloyd and its sad they are taking down that ride after all those years It's the best ride.I hope there will be a day where the back to the future films will be shown in theaters again in it's original form.

  • RIP Back to the Future: The Ride... *bawls*

  • can anybody tell me what th emain reason was to get rif of the ride?

  • Universal's focus is about the "new". They feel BTTF has had its run (even though they didn't keep it in good condition) and will just reuse the building and ride tech, replace the ride film, decor, hopefully the TV screens, and put in The Simpsons. Should open in the spring.

  • I'm going to do this when I create Universal Studios Toronto except the grand opening ceremony is at night and the ride will open at midnight with fireworks going out when the ride opens and the park is close but a portion of Future city where Back to the Future the ride is its only open for Back to the Future fans and invited guest.

  • I guess they don't look very far than...

  • One that didn't sound like he was being constantly throttled in a distant cave...

  • Hmm...you think they could get a better Doc Brown actor...

  • He's the regular Doc Brown actor for the park.

  • great vid I was there that day, i wish i couldve gotten there earlyer so i could see this! thanks for posting

  • Hey, they didnt go on the ride. Buttheads.

  • What are you talking about? Bob Gale & Chris Lloyd? They went through the Gate A entrance instead of the main stand-by entrance...

  • LOL man i love it when ppl use the lines form the movie ! LOL

  • I was tempted to go on it again. I was back in Hollywood in Feb, and was right outside the park gates (had 4 hours to kill before my flight and went to Citywalk). However, after hearing how the ride had gone downhill in recent years, I hold onto my memories from when I went in 1995 and 1997. Given how popular this ride is to BTTf fans, why doesn't Universal just release a theme park-exclusive DVD with the ride's content? I'd pay $30 for that, and I'm sure other die-hard fans would also.

  • Because they're stupid. They're double dipping on the movie trilogy soon and are making a video of guest comments from this event. Man, just the bonus feature of this press event, ride film, and pre-show videos would be enough for me to buy the set again. Plus a "Making of" the ride video. But we'll just see what they do in the future, huh?!

  • but this is the best ride!!!

  • Yeah i never went on it that sucksman shit and they had to take it down man BUTTHEADS!

  • I already planned to make a Universal Studios in Toronto Canada once I finish High School and College and get a job at Universal and if the company ask me to replace BTTF the ride with a new ride i'm going to refuse to because this is my favorite ride and I won't make the same mistake that Orlando and Hollywood made.

  • I am torn. Im excited for the simpsons ride but ughhhhhh I LOVE back to the future!!!!!!!! Hopefully I can get there tomorrow to ride it one more time.

  • Yup, today's the day. Sad really. I should go watch the movie in honor of its closure or something.

  • Will we see Back To The Future The Ride again someday?

  • It will still be open in Japan. Which I find a bit ironic...

  • Wow, thanks for the vid!!! I would have loved to be there to witness that, as BTTF is my favorite movie and I've always thought the ride was a wonderful compliment to it... What a pity that they have decided to get rid of such a wonderful attraction. Though, I thought it was great that they gave it a proper send off.

  • OMG! I'm so glad to see that someone put this up on youtube. I was wondering what the heck was happening that day but I couldn't stay to see because I was running late to work!

  • Cool, what do you do for USH? I'm leaving the USS-CW in a couple days.

  • Oh I work on Revenge of the Mummy

  • how far from disneyland resort and universal stuidos??? and how you have benn ride me no i have disneyworld ALOT 5 time soooon we might live in cinderlla castle if we want it

  • Anybody know what is going to replace BTTF ride. I heard alot of rumours but I still think it could have went on for years to come. What a shame. First Florida, and now Hollywood closing. If Spiderman 3D is replacing it Im sure people will be happy in Hollywood. The one in Florida Rocks. It's the best ride in both parks.

  • great scott! that was awsome! i can tell the fans were really into it.

  • what ride are they putting there instead? I hope Spiderman.

  • The Simpsons.

  • Nice job with the title cards.

  • Thanks, I was trying to look like the movies the best I could.

  • If Chris Lloyd was gonna be there why didn't they just have him as Doc?

  • Well after going on the ride and doing photos for the press, he immediately wanted to leave. Plus I'm sure many people would like to see him as just Chris.

  • Hi, cool vid !!!! Come check out my profile and visit me at becbo . com

  • Yeah the closing in Florida was a joke. A cruel, sadistic, pointless joke.

  • I was a bit puzzled on this myself. This was a nice send off, but wasn't Flordia's the 1st and original? And then the Hollywood came in later?

  • I wiki it and yes Orlando did that is mess up man... The original attraction opened on May 2, 1991, at Universal Studios Florida. Its success prompted the construction of a nearly identical copy on June 2, 1993 at Universal Studios Hollywood and on March 31, 2001 at Universal Studios Japan. The original ride in Orlando enjoyed almost sixteen years of constant operation before its final closure, to little fanfare,

  • on March 30, 2007. It had been operating at half capacity for over three months [1]. The Hollywood ride will close on Labor Day September 3, 2007.

  • Show offs, you get to make a big deal out of it... and we get a silent send off, with the last ride being for the staff themselves..

  • i agree, when i first saw this, it felt like a slap in the face to the fans of BTTF in florida.

  • Poor Back to the Future. =[

  • aww i love that ride! i remember it was the very first ride i went on on my first visit to universal studios hollywood. thanks a lot for sharing!
