I think what a lot of people also don't understand is the negative effect having an abortion can have on a woman. I read an article about this topic and it called it a conspiracy theory. Then it listed the stats and I couldn't see how this could be anything but a true conspiracy against blacks. I think that the encouragement in the community for adoption instead of abortion is great and wish them great success. Its a hard road but worth the effort when you see those babies get a chance.

As me being a female, already well into my thirties, I have never experienced being pregnant, not yet anyway. Abortion is a sticky, very controversial topic to debate about. I am Pro-Choice for women being in control of their own bodies, but killing millions of unborn babies.....yes, just think about how much the population would be able to grow if it wasn't for so many abortions.
How can black women have both a higher abortion rate **and** higher birth rates than white women? I would posit that minority women make up a larger amount of the childbearing age group, while white women are older in their respective demographic. Therefore, black women are going to be overrepresented in any statistics regarding reproductive behavior just by their collective youth.
The high abortion rates are symptoms of other problems in the black community, it's easy to blame racist white people but no one's forcing us to get abortions. I look around and see people who want to have sex but don't want to have children. I see an entire generation of kids raised on BET taught nothing but sex and thug culture.
If you really want to solve the problem, we have to fix the community. We need more men who are willing to be fathers and raise their kids right.
It goes both ways, either way this is being purposely planned by the powers that be who are trying to destroy us. I'm not taking away from what you say b/c they all add to the reason but who owns BET? Who own these recording companies that hire these rappers to rap about their nonsense? Who is glorifying sex so much in the media that it's influencing 9-year-olds to have sex but at the same time not providing the proper education about sex in inner city schools?Hint: Those ppl are not black!
The issue of abortion though, today we are doing it to ourselves. I know the history of eugenics in this country, how half-black children were put in chains in asylums (basically concentration camps), how black women were forcefully steralized, how we were positioned around copper smelters to give us lead poisoning.

I think what a lot of people also don't understand is the negative effect having an abortion can have on a woman. I read an article about this topic and it called it a conspiracy theory. Then it listed the stats and I couldn't see how this could be anything but a true conspiracy against blacks. I think that the encouragement in the community for adoption instead of abortion is great and wish them great success. Its a hard road but worth the effort when you see those babies get a chance.
