@dmmc1043 Gilbert takes a bit of his inspiration from Malmsteen (though I think hes generally a much better guitarist - hes got a lot more emotion and variety in his playing), so you can see why some people might compare him to Malmsteen.

@powermetal32 i'm talking about picking style, gilbert and becker are mainly alternate pickers when it comes to scales.... yngwie has a hybrid picking technique where he economy picks when ascending and alternate picks when descending... and his lines are asymmetrical for the most part... gilbert and beckeer's lines are a little bit more "thought out":. If you saw Ewan play electric guitar, you'd see what I mean... I'll eventually upload some vids of him doing that when I stop being lazy...
