An incredible find! Yet, as I watched the water warm water being poured to melt the ice - and gold floating... Heart breaking! Why - when it was obvious, there was a true find, that the whole ice block was not taken, to an appropriate place for de-frosting and examination.  I understand the excitement of the find - but really, mindfulness was lacking! -- A very barbaric way to unveil a piece of history. The Ice Maiden's era would have taken more care. Sad. Yet, I am so thankful for the find!

I agree, I am studying the ice maiden in Ancient History for a research assignment and somewhere it said that after the maiden was thawed out it got like a big growth of fungus and shit that just ate away at the body and clothing.
