@elvisandgladys well at the end, Darth Vader is played my Sebastian Shaw (not the voice that was James Earl Jones) but that is the first and last time that Luke(Mark Hamill) sees his father. At the end of the movie when they are burning Vader's body, Luke goes away and sees the ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi(Alec Guinness), Yoda, and Vader(Sebastion Shaw) in robes. But for the special edition (this one) they replaced Sebastion Shaw with Hayden Christianson

@elvisandgladys (2nd post read my first reply before you read this) And the problem with this is that the last and only time Luke(Hamill) saw Vader was when he was Sebastian Shaw so it makes no sense to see him as Hayden Christianson because he looked like that chronologically about 20-30 years ago so Luke would have no clue who that guy would be. Just lucas being an asshat adding in extra things that didnt need to be added. Sorry to type so much just wanted to be clear.

@TheJillyjally What it's saying is that Anakin truly died when he turned into Darth Vader so they put young Anakin their to show that he was good again and Obi Wan died when he died so there was no reason to put Ewan Mcgreggor as him in that last scene.

@thesilvermoonbeam No, what Lucas did was try to shove shit from the prequel trilogy into the originals to develop links. Anakin returned to the light side before he died. He would have been shown as his self at that age. This is aside from the fact that Luke wouldn't have a clue what his father had looked like as a young man.

This was just more pointless meddling by Lucas. The change was so reviled by fans that he reversed it in later editions.

And this beautiful saga comes to an end...I love the ending, though it makes me sad to see a remarkable adventure come to a close. But I believe it was done perfectly. Personally, I have no knowledge of the expanded version, but I believe that they shouldn't come out with more movies with the original trio of characters. It would just ruin it. However, I wouldn't be opposed to another Star Wars movie following a whole different set of characters, if it was as close to the originals as possible.

The funny thing is, fear of losing a loved one is what turned Anakin to the dark side in the first place (fear of losing Padme in childbirth) and fear of losing another loved one is what turned him back (Luke, who was about to killed by the emperor)

I find it odd how when Obi One dies, his ghost is him as an old man, when Yoda dies, he's an old....whatever his species name is, but yet when Anakin dies.....he comes back young......might just be because the copy my family had on VHS growing up was with Sebastian Shaw as Anakin lol

The Celebration is a little premature. The bulk of the Imperial Fleet is still intact and i am sure that there are several Admirals willing to fill in the role of the Emperor. They may have destroyed the second Death Star, but if this movie taught us anything, its that the Empire could always just build another one.

Yeah, this is what I hate about Full Screen, you can't see everything. When they show Anakin's ghost, they have to move the camera, as where Widescreen shows all three of them in one shot.

This just like Stan Lee's cameo in Spider-Man 3; they had to move from Stan to Tobey to Stan to back to Tobey.
