That's gotta hurt. I know I'd be pissed if Petrino had taken a job at UK Football (if there had been a job opening at the time). But, come on. Rick coached easily one of the greatest college basketball teams of all time...of all time. 1995-96 Wildcats. 34-2, National Champions. Personally, I think UK should've had a 3-peat, but damn Mike Bibby and the Arizona Wildcats. And Tubby's first year was so successful because of Rick's recruits.

the reason we weren't a 3 peat was because pitino didnt want to risk the career of a promising young player in derek anderson as he was healing. with anderson that game would have been sealed in the first half. overtime- i think not. oh well. and i agree about the '98 tubby thing. tubby was a classy guy- he just wasn't a great recruiter and played slow, BORING basketball. i will always miss RP.. i fell in love with bball because of him and the cats.

What I'm trying to say is, Rick should be met with at least respectful applause because of his accomplishments at UK despite him coaching the team you all hate more than anything in the world.
