hey mate how are you, i have a 1976 celica ta23 looking at ripping out the engine, but dont know what to throw in, any suggestions, and how much did this set up set you mate back?
@mallakismeni I charged him mates rates for the fab work 4K whick included redoing the from chasis rails(they were cracked) the engine mounts. The intercooler install and pipework( major front end rearranging to fit the FMIC in) The exhaust manifold and exhaust system.
1GGTE are a bit old.. A 1JZGTE would be a better base and much stronger. The 1GGTE made 145RWKW@20psi manual. My mates 1J made 160RWKW on 18psi automatic
@theicefrog hey there, what cam would I suggest?? the std cam unless you have worked the bejesus out of the bottom end. If you want power and still some mid end then I suggest a compund turbo setup.
But if still want to persist with cams, Ive heard some guys like the NA cams. Dont hold me to it but they said they have more duration than the turbo ones..
turbo choice will push the motor to its destruction point anyway.
hey guys love the old celicas i got one at home and because of enginering disputes the biggest and reliable engine i can put in mine is a sr20det 2.2l with a t28 turbo.... not sure on prices but is that a way too go in a celica???
Thanks, Its a mates car that I help build. GT3082R custom manifold, infact I customed the whole front end just to fit the intercooler and radiator in behind the grill because he said it wouldnt fit! I proved him wrong(^-^)!

ta22 sr20det ok but more expensive conversion than 4agte or 4age blacktop with quad throttle
ra23/28 1ggte 2.0L six is awsome. the sr20det will make the car sound like a silvia
