um...it looks like it's raining out to me, too. the safest place for that package is the mailbox. it was probably 2 centimeters shy of fitting. you have an aggressive dog, so if i know you have a dog that barks like that when i approach your house my first choice is to try to get it in the mailbox. you probably dont even have a dry porch! next time, i hope she just leaves you a notice to pick it up at the post office.

She did nothing wrong... she did exactly as she should have. As a mail carrier myself, we are told to attempt putting a package into the box as long as it fits. If it is too big then we walk it to the door. some packages are just a fraction oversized and won't fit in a mailbox and we never know until we attempt it.

If it fits, it ships. I carried mail, and when I absolutely was certain it wouldn't fit in the box, I took it to the door and rang for the customer. If they didn't answer, I most of the time tried to find a safe, dry place for the customer to find it. She could have been a real bitch. left notice, and made you come to PO to pick it up if nobody came to the door.

Mail Carriers are supposed to bring packages to your door, according to our mail carrier's supervisor. I have the same thing happen with my mail carrier. One day she even hung a couple packages off the mailbox in a plastic bag because they wouldn't fit in mail box. Too lazy to walk.The other mail carriers who cover for her when she's off bring packages to the door and ring the bell. After a couple complaints, she still does what she wants. Coincidentally, my mail carrier is also a black woman.
