  • 6:30 onwards- My favourite part.

  • 8:14 CET one more 34.987

  • There are a lot of mistakes on the play, the age doesn't forgive. There are 34986 people that like this fake version of moonlight sonnata. I CAN'T BELIEVE that this video has more plays that the version of Valentina Lisitsa.

  • @theonlygrd86 Have you counted the mistakes? I don't hope.

Perhaps you're right. I don't know the theory of music. But it is a great feeling for me to listening to this music and to see this man playing the piano. Music is not mathematic, I'm sure.

  • @theonlygrd86 and I suppose you can play this piece well enough to have the right to criticize can you? I like valentina lisitsa, but when it comes to interpreting Beethoven, Wilhelm Kempff is in a completely different class

  • r.i.p.

  • Beethoven should have may as well invented the piano! But he didn't!

  • In years full of reggaeton and pop, this is a real pleasure for my ears.

  • does

  • Is this what Emporer Palpatine dies when he's not ruling the Empire?

  • I can't look at this video, just listen to it. It's like "Jesus Christ, put up some pictures of rolling meadows, or fucking puppies. Not the dead stare of his eyes as he's looking into infinity!"

  • Folks! You all felt for it! The video is fake! The guy's a robot!

  • If you play Mvt1 And Mvt3 together, It's magical.

  • At 1:40 I was thinking of Super Mario on the Super Nintendo and being in Bowser's castle lol

  • I wish I could've seen Beethoven himself play this.

  • @TheManiacalSatanist6 I wish Beethoven could see THIS ;)

  • @Musemaniac91 - I couln't agree more

  • @TheManiacalSatanist6 I wish Beethoven could HEAR this.

  • @Palladin124 He got to hear it in his head...But I agree, I wish he could have heard it in his ears.

  • He could have made a great spokesman for arthritis creme.

  • One word - Fuck.

  • Man, i was thinking, if he was Asian, he'll play it backwards with his toes.

  • Lol 0:40

  • Das ist die mit Abstand beste Version des 3. Satzes der Mondscheinsonate. Kempff spielt dieses Stück mit einer enormen Präzision und trotzdem bewegt es mich.

  • I just love these comments so much. One person would sell their grandma to see him play live, another would finish Darth Vader off. Love it, thanks for the entertainment guys! And love Wilhelm...RIP my piano overlord.

  • This is truley a beautiful song :) thumbs up if you agree. While you're at it check out my 15 year old interpretation on it. Much love

  • i think the reason people listen to classical b4 onset of insanity is because within some compositions the relation to mental/physical turmoil is so strong that manifestation of the line between sanity and insanity occurs and the pathophysiology of this manifestation compounds the inner turmoil untill it collapses on itself therefore rendering insanity. btw still sane and this rendition of mvt 3 is the best ive ever heard

  • Asian Dad: Now do it backwards.

  • 0:20.. I think it is the best part..

  • He started kind of late... Take that into account... Could you do better...?

It's good enough to put a smile on those who simply enjoy the music...

Plus in the long run it had one HELL of a perculiar political harmony...

  • It's as if he's possessed by the spirit of Beethoven himself.

  • Magic fingers. I want.

  • @HindsightPOV please check out my video! i would really appreciate it. I am 15 years old

  • This is the best rendition of this movement. Period. End of story. Goodnight. Adios. Adieu. Vaarwel. Donadagohvi. Sayonara. Ciao. Aloha. Shalom. Namaste. Hyvästi. Slan. Later bro.

  • @jsrosenfeld0 Two words. Valentina Lisitsa.

  • @jsrosenfeld0 You obviously haven't heard Glenn Gould's rendition.

  • @ilovemyseacow

Glenn Gould played this WAY faster. Not necessarly bad but I prefer Kempffs version.

  • they look like spiders

  • long live the emperor

  • love spazzing out to this.

  • 0:45 I whip my hair back and forth

  • @RaveWoIf

No. Do not even mention such a terrible piece of music in the comments of a video of such a great piece of music.

  • @crazyNirvana chill out it was just a joke, my old piano teacher used to play like that, he could have a seizure while playing and no one would notice

  • 4pp

  • :o

  • I wanna learn....

  • 0:45 bitch slap

  • @erusam you made me laugh out loud man!!!! That was a very good one!!! WOWwwwwwww!!! hahahahhahahahahaha

  • One of the best things i've heard in my life . . .

  • 547 people had their fingers knot together a la mickey mouse trying to play this piece.

  • I too

  • I like Kempff

  • 0:42

  • I hope this piano was wined and dined before it got...

  • I can't even get close to playing this song like that!! And I'm a strapping young lad!! Not an old man!! You're incredible!!

  • best version of 3rd movement ever!

  • how the eff is this even possible??

  • @danielsonn77 He uses the force, its a secret known only to the jedi..... and kempff....

  • I'm willing to finish off Darth Vader just to be his apprentice.

  • I want this video on my G6608 unit.

  • Eheheheh he looks like the emperor lol

  • very good... i like that!!

  • RIP Kempff - I really hope those hands are on display at a museum somewhere.

  • This guy is my hero

  • He even makes the mistakes sound like true, passionate music.

I would sell my grandmother to have seen him play live.

  • Look at his eyes,That's what called passion.

  • Song gods

  • My dad is pianist and he's the Slower person ive ever met when he writes in the computer...

  • My reaction -------> O.O

  • @asqwert2121 i see what you did there ;)

  • spectacular!!! if you overlook the 5 mistakes I caught...But WOW

  • and the powerpuff girls were born!!!

  • JESUS !!!!!! i have to learn this piece

  • 02:06 Haha!! So you're not perfect after all!

  • is this possible? i mean look at the hands!??!???!??!??

  • @OPianst ,,,, It is, I can play the start of the song,,, :D, But im just 13.. And i dont playm more then 15minutes per day,, , Its not hard. But IT AINT EASY

  • Everyone else is trying to play this the fastest that they can. But this master makes every note count exploring the dynamics; making justice to this piece. It´s by far the best version in youtube, even if you heard 0:40 or 2:36

  • How is that possible?! It's like his hands are some kind of IDk

  • This old man looks like he's giving his soul to this single composition. He's utterly amazing!

  • my speakers volume is full and still not LOUD ENOUGH >-<

  • Under the video is the word normal. click on it and set it to 2x speed. be amazed.

  • see how is pupils are dilated? thats the opium high you get from good music(:

  • That piano costs more than my house, but that man was invaluable.

  • This movement is my favorite.

  • not trying to hate off of wilhelm but throughout the entire piece if you listen carefully you can hear a whole bunch of wrong notes

  • @bandgeekchef17 if i recall, this guy had parkinson's. so its amazing that he can even play this song

  • Stop talking about star wars and just talk about the music how it's perfected with those hands.

  • OH MYYYYY GODDDDDDDD

  • Increíblemente bello. Una gran interpretación para una gran melodía.

  • who in the world would dislike this id like to rip his insides out

  • straight up G.got more talent in his pinky then in most peoples whole person

  • I like classical music...That doesn't mean I do not like rap.I play classical pieces.Rap, Rap songs.

  • I love Wilhelm Kempff and Horowitz Not Justin Biebe and Eminem

  • Was that a mistake at 2:06?!?!?!??!

  • @Tilan123 i know what you mean but i dont think it is. Thats the way that my father plays the song as well but it could be that my father just has a bad habbit

  • @TheSkippysugar Haha. It's Wilhelm Kempff. He never makes mistakes. But I'm learning the first measure of this song and ugh it's so damn hard. It's going to take me a long long time to learn!

  • @Tilan123 Don't give up!!! I'm only 15 and I mastered this song this year! You need to keep trying. I would practice 4 hours a day (not saying you should do that) but just practice it. start off slowly. once you get the first few pages the rest should be a sinch. [: please be kind enough to view my interpretation on this beautiful piece of music! much apprieciated!!

  • @mommydaddy7 Cheers mate! I'm spending about 2 hours a day at the moment. Trying my best. I've learnt like the first measure but I need to do it fast and I'm 19 and self-taught. I'll check it out!

  • this guy once fingered a girl......she died

  • Asian Father Says: "Good, NOW DO ET BACKWADS!"

  • P.S. Mozart might say go a little gentler here or there, and the Emperor might say too many notes, but I say not a bad effort at all!

  • @1815brian Tis more than an effort!

  • Genius

  • i hope that piano was 18 years old

  • @asqwert2121 lmao

  • @asqwert2121 i dont get it. is it because theres 18 pages?

  • @asqwert2121 I have long been a fan of Wilhelm Kempff, but this is just a smack on the lips. Wanna see real piano rape? Look up "Derek Paravicini takes requests!".

  • @ralphM1114 ive seen that guy... he was on a show called superhumans.... he memorizes anything he hears on the piano

  • @asqwert2121 ince görmüşsün piç güzel espiri verdim şukunu şimdi siktir git

  • I have to learn this and it is so fucking hard!

  • Wilhelm: The professional :)

  • Me gustaría ver que alguien mas a esa misma edad intentara tocar algo así, obvio es solo para personas del nivel de Kempff, fue de los mejores pianistas del siglo XX y se nota en este video!

  • This GREAT PERFORMER was born in 1895 and as you see in the colored video, he is about 90 years old. Judge him knowing, that if you go on his age and if you live until 90 (I hope so), you would probably can't move your fingers, even to play 'fur elise'.

  • this is not just playing piano, this is mastery! Whatever this man's mind instructs his fingers to do on those keys gets done!!

  • I like how Valentina Lisitsa plays it better...

  • @RevJaWs Just because she goes faster huh? :P

  • @Djimmeniano haha. i'm not sure it's because of that, i just like it better than this one, and the other few i've seen. I like her style and passion.

  • 6:11 MOTHER OF GOD!

    I think I pooped...

  • Epic Troll Face 06:30 :D

  • beautiful and touching. This guy is really into music.

  • :motherofgod:

  • Mistake 1:23 but still awesome :P

  • C'est fou : c'est sans doute l'interprétation la plus fautive que je connaisse et c'est quand même celle que je trouve la plus juste

  • Senator Palpatine plays the piano? He has unlimited power with playing the piano too.

  • 0:44 Air Bitch Slap!!!

  • i want to learn to play this. i can get a high chance that my girl will marry me. :D

  • I've got a strange feeling this man may know a thing or two about playing piano.

  • @florestiner12312 awesome comment!

  • When a god plays piano ...

  • Stop with the dumb comments... YOU ARE NOT CLEVER.

  • I think most of us wouldn't mind playing this piece this good. Must respect his age were all headed in this direction if were fortunate.

  • is he blind ?

  • da Piano is not longer a Virgin..........

  • The moonlight is in no way intended to build a performers technical work (even though it may), it is a pure work of art. To judge Kempff’s playing at this age, to when Ritcher’s recording did not even have colour, that is ignorant, and dumb.

  • Wihelm kempff has recorded the complete Beethoven sonatas when he was much younger then in this video. In the 14 sonata movement 3 he had made very few errors, to judge him as a virtuoso pianist by playing this work at this age is wrong. The Op 10 No 4 being an Etude aims to build the players technical ability at the keyboard, and is purposely difficult, which is the general reason the piece is being studied.

  • i had flash backs of an epic battle with bowser

  • He missed on 0:5,89342582348956324803409563284602094653249863209

  • I find this difficult to masturbate to.

  • At the age of 3, Chuck Norris was able to play this song backwards while being blindfolded with a single hand...he accidentally tripled the speed but still played it right.

  • "God, can I have 9,895,959,837,384,994,834,584,392,034 dollars?"

"No son, that is to much money"

"God, I want to play piano like Wilhelm Kempff"

"How much money did you want again?"

  • @chickenbutt123ish

Kempff is damn good, a great master, no doubt. But I hope you are able to hear the following: 2:06

Better listen to Murray Perahia, till I can play it better ;D

  • I will point out the audacity of not filming the artist's fingers during the climax of the piece. That was maddening. I was waiting the entire song to see that moment. Come on.

  • /watch?v=EmV35VPRT9s

  • i would not care to say that he made any "mistakes" at all, after all music comes from the heart especially music such as this and the little imperfections is exactly what makes us all human

  • Through the fire and flames on Piano!

  • I doubt Beethoven himself ever played it completely without a small mistake or two.

  • Impressionnant, le nombre de fausses notes qu'était capable de jouer Kempff en live. Mais le génie du piano est toujours là ; on vois bien dans ses yeux qu'il se moque totalement de jouer faux, et il a raison !

  • The feeling of playing this song is like making love... not to the piano, not to yourself, but to music itself. Look at his face!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh I so want to play this!!

  • This is Beethoven , yes he is really Beethoven , Beethoven didn't die , he still alive in front of you playing his own peace of music .... i have discovered this lately but it is the truth ... however , he is dead now , he died in 1991 , Wilhelm Kempff is a FAKE name that Beethoven used it to hide his real identity so no one will disturb him ...

  • ignoring what his hands do - like a boss

  • This blows my mind every time I watch it

  • That is Beethoven's soul inside Wilhelm Kempff, He was born again in our century to teach us the meaning of music.

  • WHOA WHOA WHOA. I heard him miss a note. Automatic downvote.
