There are a lot of mistakes on the play, the age doesn't forgive. There are 34986 people that like this fake version of moonlight sonnata. I CAN'T BELIEVE that this video has more plays that the version of Valentina Lisitsa.
@theonlygrd86 Have you counted the mistakes? I don't hope.
Perhaps you're right. I don't know the theory of music. But it is a great feeling for me to listening to this music and to see this man playing the piano. Music is not mathematic, I'm sure.
@theonlygrd86 and I suppose you can play this piece well enough to have the right to criticize can you? I like valentina lisitsa, but when it comes to interpreting Beethoven, Wilhelm Kempff is in a completely different class
I can't look at this video, just listen to it. It's like "Jesus Christ, put up some pictures of rolling meadows, or fucking puppies. Not the dead stare of his eyes as he's looking into infinity!"
Das ist die mit Abstand beste Version des 3. Satzes der Mondscheinsonate. Kempff spielt dieses Stück mit einer enormen Präzision und trotzdem bewegt es mich.
I just love these comments so much. One person would sell their grandma to see him play live, another would finish Darth Vader off. Love it, thanks for the entertainment guys! And love Wilhelm...RIP my piano overlord.
i think the reason people listen to classical b4 onset of insanity is because within some compositions the relation to mental/physical turmoil is so strong that manifestation of the line between sanity and insanity occurs and the pathophysiology of this manifestation compounds the inner turmoil untill it collapses on itself therefore rendering insanity. btw still sane and this rendition of mvt 3 is the best ive ever heard
This is the best rendition of this movement. Period. End of story. Goodnight. Adios. Adieu. Vaarwel. Donadagohvi. Sayonara. Ciao. Aloha. Shalom. Namaste. Hyvästi. Slan. Later bro.

@TheSkippysugar Haha. It's Wilhelm Kempff. He never makes mistakes. But I'm learning the first measure of this song and ugh it's so damn hard. It's going to take me a long long time to learn!
@Tilan123 Don't give up!!! I'm only 15 and I mastered this song this year! You need to keep trying. I would practice 4 hours a day (not saying you should do that) but just practice it. start off slowly. once you get the first few pages the rest should be a sinch. [: please be kind enough to view my interpretation on this beautiful piece of music! much apprieciated!!
@mommydaddy7 Cheers mate! I'm spending about 2 hours a day at the moment. Trying my best. I've learnt like the first measure but I need to do it fast and I'm 19 and self-taught. I'll check it out!
@asqwert2121 I have long been a fan of Wilhelm Kempff, but this is just a smack on the lips. Wanna see real piano rape? Look up "Derek Paravicini takes requests!".
Me gustaría ver que alguien mas a esa misma edad intentara tocar algo así, obvio es solo para personas del nivel de Kempff, fue de los mejores pianistas del siglo XX y se nota en este video!
This GREAT PERFORMER was born in 1895 and as you see in the colored video, he is about 90 years old. Judge him knowing, that if you go on his age and if you live until 90 (I hope so), you would probably can't move your fingers, even to play 'fur elise'.
@Djimmeniano haha. i'm not sure it's because of that, i just like it better than this one, and the other few i've seen. I like her style and passion.
