i've tried the build 7 and 8 drivers both no go tried the disk it came with it said the drivers do NOT support x64 OS's

Using MSconfig is like walking into a dark room with both hands tied behind your back. The fact that Chris suggest using Msconfig shows his lack of knowledge about Windows.

To manage startup entries use the Sysinternals tool "Autoruns".

Actually the tool is used for troubleshooting configuration problems. It is not meant for long term changes. Microsoft claims itself that msconfig "does not manage the programs that run when Windows starts."

Pirillo shows a lack of knowledge about what msconfig is for and I have no idea why you would argue against it. Autoruns by the way is a Sysinternals tool written by Mark Russinovich. It certainly has no malware.

Hey Chris thanks for the help, this video was a great benefit for me. I don't know much about Win 7. When I went to it everything was checked so I have to restart computer to see how fast it boots up. It wasn't to bad before hand... then again quad processors are ftw.

I always disable my self installed programs except my IM services. Is they update windows 7 to load programs one by one startup would be infinitely faster. Even with only 2-3 programs starting up (self installed) at once it takes 5 or so minutes before my computer can be ran at a decent speed.

Oh I know it is more a throw to the programmers of the software. I mean really there are tools I like started in the background. For instance anti viral software. And a few small group of programs I use allot. But I am in control here.

Yeah I used to use that software. Not anymore though. There are alternatives like infrarecorder that do the job just as well for what I use it to do. Nero's products are the most bloated resource hogs I've ever seen.
