  • "I don't want to be filled with doubt"

  • who made this song? the Remones or Tom Waits?

  • Comment removed

  • Underrated genius but Tom would probably snort at the idea....

  • I like that part where he says "I dont wanna grow up"

  • I love this song, I was listening to it when I met my husband, and I wrote down the lyrics for him, three kids later and he still doesn't get it. I still listen to it once in a while, to listen to a great artist sing my own thoughts!

  • TOm is as rich and harsh as the whiskey he drinks....first it burns..and then you realise... you want more..

  • @.@ ...

  • prefiro a versao do ramones....=/

  • Beavis: TURDS! TURDS! TURDS!

  • This reminds me of a very talented person that just downed a gallon of Jack...

  • PURE LEGENDRY STATUS ... Sir Tom

  • (Butthead's voice) "Alright, that's enough, now get your ass back in the wall."

  • @tenchi64589 beavis "avoid the noid !!Avoid the noid!!"

  • 7 people have no taste in music

  • Beautiful Loser!!! =)

  • i kinda like the Ramones cover better...buh this one is still awsum

  • Fucking Aweesomeeeeee!!! hahahahaha

  • I grew up with my father playing Tom Waits in the evening (Along with a lot of massive attack) And he was very proud of me when I bought Moby - Play as my first album CD :p

  • Es grandiosa la letra de ésta canción! :D

  • Amazing!

  • One of the best ramones covers ever. LOL the little amp...

  • @karatezombie it's not a ramones cover tom waits wrote this song

  • @boomergetaddicted oops. ty for setting me straight. :)

  • great song...dying to see him live

  • ach, it's wonderful. it represends my feelings o perfekt

  • R A M O N E S ? ?

  • @KiddBonesRamoneXxX Ramones covered tom waits, but yeh, they recorded this son as well, pretty damn good if you ask me xD Still like the original better

  • I actually cried when I heard that. I'm such a big softie. Hehe Waits Rox! :)

  • Me,grow up?

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHA!

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A good song by Tom but the Ramones made it great.

  • Tom is like mental alcohol. When you first drink it, it tastes like crap and you wonder why you'd ever have it again. But as you grow older and more mature you begin to really appreciate it.

  • @7paco oh u r so right man ;)

i fuckin love that song :)

  • @7paco

If Tom Waits is mental alcohol, then I'm drunk as hell.

  • Like Absinthe.

  • @ 7paco...great description. I may have to steal it.

  • @7paco That's a load of bull if I ever heard it. I'm 21 years old and I've loved music & film from the 1900s-present since I was 5 years old. Some people just like him because he is good to us. I think he's amazing.

  • Not for me, but my first exposure was..." the Heart of Saturday Night" (cover is great) Music is Better! I was 22 at the time...1972-3 in there-He's My Favorite from then to Now...

  • Tom has great talent, only thing his voice is too coarse for me.

  • @7paco Bloody oath!

You not only appreciate it, you find yourself immensed in it

  • @7paco You should write some columns for bands that was great

  • @7paco First song I ever heard by Tom was "Shiny Things" and I immediately fell in love. I guess I'm one of those people that waited years before I could drink, and the first night, I got drunk with no hangover. I used to be a metal head until I heard Tom Waits. Now I'm disappointed by everything else because nothing else is as touching as his music.

  • @7paco im pretty sure its just crap.

  • props to the writer

  • Guys, you can't compare Ramones and Tom Waits. They're two different things, and I love them both, ha! But this version is seriously amazing.

  • the guy is 1 crazy genius and i LUV him

  • come on guys - seriously! how the hell can you say the ramones version is better! you guys obviously don't recognize when a master performs

  • I actually prefer the Ramones version, probly' cuz' I'm a massive Ramones fan :P

  • This is such a good song, but seriously The Ramones is way more emotional it seems.

  • @CircaSkater88 : he man I love both the Ramones and Waits, but THIS version is what its all about...he IS emotion, check out his other 1000 songs and you'll know! :)

  • Tom Waits is so right!

    *holding back tears*

  • this video is adorable! is favourite of my son ... one moore time, great Tom!!

  • Don't get me wrong, Tom Waits is an amazing guy, seriously. i love alot of his songs. But, the way the ramones played this number hit me harder than Tom's original. I don't know why. But it did.

  • not a huge fan of the ramones, though i respect them and all, but as a person who has followed tom waits and the vast spectrum of music and imagery that he has presented, i find waits to present a more thorough interpretation of the idea of the song. he communicates more in my opinion.

  • *and so i find his presentation more impactful

  • Jim Jarmush directed this one.

  • Whenever I listen to this song I'm always sad and frustrated and at least a little angry. But I watched this and it made me laugh. Tom Waits on a bike!

  • Both ramones and waits versions have their own merits, but waits version always does it for me...the man is a genius.

  • I guess I can understand why some like the ramones version better. But to me, it doesn't capture it right. This is actually a very sad song, and I'd much rather hear Tom's amazingly fucked up voice deliver it than the whole upbeat punk thing the ramones do. But to each his own.

  • Ramones vs. Tom Waits = Apples vs Oranges.

  • wait, he was the original?

  • Yup.

  • you guys are fucked

  • SIgh. I shed a tear for your stupidity

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • they wouldn't have the song if not for waits.

  • and here too.

  • song makes me wanna strip naked and dance on the freakin roof.

let it fly kiss the angrys bye bye

    i f-in love mr waits!!

genuis is so understating this man.

thank you kamman for this post.

    damn near my anthem lately.

  • me too!!!!

but i also need his " goin out west" video too.

    what happened to it?

    i like macho too

  • Classic!

  • The Ramones version sucks ass

  • Oh how mature of you, "Fuck you and your family" what sort of prick must you be to take someones opinion and turn it into an insult against their family??? Grow up ya little wank stain.

  • I apologise for the idiotic replys from the two of them but i quite agree. His version is raw from how much distortion he puts into both his instruments and his vocals. "The Ramones" version is too clean and fast for my taste, in my opinion, Tom Waits version for me is the one i would prefer.

  • thumbs up!

  • video quality is awfully shitty

  • ah,he's so brilliant:D:D:D

  • sounds like a coffee can full of rusty nails..in a good way

  • Tom Waits is so tite

  • I found it!!! yes, thanks for posting this great video!!!

  • amen

  • Hey guys,

Music is aesome, now lets all dance and sing before we are dead.

  • @theoriginalmediaboy I plan on it. [=

  • Tom Waits ROCKS!!!

  • Sounds like it was actually meant for the Ramones...

  • The Ramones have covered this song...both are great.

  • I agree. I had only heard the Ramones version previously and love it. But now hearing this, I must admit this is a an amazing song as well.

  • What were you thinking you really hurt tmfjones feeling now he is going to have to take three midols
