You know if you look at history, it would actually be much wiser to buy silver coins. Sure the bullion is nice and shiny haha but the government could easily tax something that isn't "money". Silver coins are real tender where as bullion would probably be taxed outrageously if an economic crisis occurs. Its happened.
Whether we get an economic recovery in the future or not it will still result in currency depreciation just like at the beginning of the decade. I have my PMs so I am ready.
Didn't think of that. Holiday spending, of course. Just like when the Credit card companies said they would not raise rates on their cards but right before X-mas (huge spending), they sure as shit did. That was day that showed me this country is in trouble. Why raise rates on people who are already defaulting? Answer: Greedy fucks!
The govts around the world need to boost confidence. Especially going into the Christmas buying season. If the retail season is a bust many retailers are through. Commercial real estate fails, unemployment shoots up again. I would probably do the same if I was the govt. Those who go out and splurge may be out of cash going into a long rough period. Thanks for what you do.
Anouncements that the recession is over could be a sign od desperation.... the truth could be that "they" are so terrified of the possibility of utter ecconomic cotastrophy, that wholesale lieing to the public seems to be the kindest thingh if it simply slows the collapse.
Recession is over... I'm close to the point where I call in one of these shows and tell them to go out to these tent cities and tell everyone the recession is over and see what reaction they get.
3% increase in inflation year over year is a good sign for the recovery. Its also a good to spend all day looking directly at the sun until your eyes can't take it anymore. Anyone who believes that, would be an idiot.
Not saying people who believe this stuff to be idiots, however its only showing us they have used their means to make us think certain ways. (Believing their story). I am noticing more people waking up. Thats a great sign.
Derek, I love your sarcasm. You freakin' crack me up. I will not be buying things on cheap credit - guess I don't believe in a jobless recovery - because a jobless recovery is NOT a recovery.
Yippie its over! Its over! Not even a Goldilocks moment! We are saved! Were saved!! What are they going to say when the next (Vicious) downleg down occurs. This is going to become the next Fairy Tale. Like the Little Boy who cried wolf
I think its time to raise the white flag...people have been calling for the market to go lower since S&P 666....they just missed a 40% move and its not over....you have to look at foward looking indicators, not lagging indicators....we are out of this...give it up
why does the stock market have anything to do with it? DOW 12,000 is still an economic collapse. Inflation and stimulus money is bringing it up. Plus its only been a few months since the bottom. Markets take time to heal. 2 years minimum from the current damage (if it is the worst)
However proper math would be saying 0.02 x the chances of recovery you see because of the Mayan Calendar accuracy to date.
Sorry friend, its not possible to break a universal law.
I heard a NPR report yesterday reporting that the recession, at least in Miami, was over because housing sales had picked up.b The funny part was when they realtors were asked who was buying the houses, they responded primarily foreigners from central and south America!! So, our land and homes are selling, just not to us.
LOL and its a free market and everything that brought them up. LOL.. The interfered market is making it worse with the extra debt they put these buyers into.
I'm not an economic expert. It's hard for us regular folks to understand how these people can think the crisis is over! Do they think they can talk us out of these problems? Geez, get out the pom-poms.
with these current conditions you dont need to be a export at the economy to see where we really are. Christmas will be a wake up call to stores I think.
I heard this story blasted on radio news this morning. Very frustrated by their statements. Statistics = using numbers to lie. Who were the sample population whom they asked these questions? No one called me and probably not you either. But if they sampled these questions from people who only listen to main stream media news, well...they are sadly only hearing one side. Why don't they do a YOUTUBE sample and ask the same questions...The Scaredy Cats wouldn't dare, Youtube is awake to the Bull!
This impartial survey was conducted by sampling a random group of men and women leaving and entering the Federal Reserve Building from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. last Wednesday. The weather was mild with cool, dry temperatures.
When asked if their seven-figure salaries or eight-figure bonuses might have skewed their optimistic view of the economy; each answered a resounding, "No", reinforcing the impartiality of the survey.
You know those people whom take stories and edit them as they rip it apart. That is what I feel I have to do with the mainstream media. I have worked in auditing before with the examining of numbers.
There numbers are being exposed and they are fraudulent by ethics. They are being exposed with U6 and the SGS people whom have helped out a lot.
I now question virtually everything in history for its validness, as almost every story i feel theres a heck of a lot more to them.

I've learned to ignore mass media.
Last month, I had to clean my room full of several months of newspapers.
I noticed that, since May, at least once a month, the titles of main business news articles were the same - "Recession is over."
