I think the mayans were trying to say that the world will change, people will have a different way of thinking and maybe wars will end. And just because there calender ends doesn't mean its the end of the world. All calenders end right? Maybe they thought they should leave the calender and pass it on to the next generation so they could finish it but they didn't predict that they would go extinct so they didn't get to continue it.
2012 isn't true .... just like they said the world would end in 1984 and the y2k would effect all computers these are people that just want attention ....... if something bad would happen to this planet Norad and or NASA would have known or would know in advance ...
