@otoevst What the hell? Do you even know what caused the "credit crunch"? It certainly wasnt lack of payroll taxes. Too much money in the system led to a housing bubble. There was so much money in loans that they would give em to anyone. Then when things tightened up, people defaulted and banks didnt want to risk anymore.

Wow, so this is how those who came before us were doped into accepting the income tax that now enslaves half the country and subsidizes the other half for doing nothing. I had no idea this nonsense went on during that time period. Heaven forbid a person believed he was entitled to the fruits of his labor -- No the government is entitled to take it from you to prosecute THEIR war (not yours). Sick stuff.
All taxation is theft regardless of the excuse government gives for it.

I agree that the tax system could be less susceptible to fascist policies, but the main problem we are having now is that the international financial system is bankrupt and we are being forced to keep them afloat! The gov't doesn't have to borrow its own currency! Constitutionally, the Treasury can utter credit. We don't need the banksters!

Only gold and silver are money. This is what the constitution says. You cannot "utter" money into existence.
We dont need corrupt politicians who tell you the constitution is out of date, or a living document. Why have a constitution at all then?
Lending money serves an important role. Its the too-big-to-fail model that creates moral hazzard, and removes risk (a major check on greed in a capitalist system). We need reward AND risk to make capitalism work. Bailouts are the problem.

@jjason1985 To be a capitalist you actually have to have capital. A number on a computer in a bank account does not equal capital. The United States has been gradually deindustralized over the past fifty years, much of the capital is gone.

@legoman762005 but we were paying income taxes long before then. WW2 just caused them to be jacked up. We were paying income taxes in the Civil War, and then the 16th amendment was passed in the 1890's.

It effectively conceals your tax burden from you; the government takes your money for taxes before you ever even see a single penny; how can you miss something you've never even had in your possession?

This is propganda through and through. Income tax goes entirely to the federal reserve, which makes money at a debt to the United States people. Our income taxes do nothing more and have never done anything more than support a fraud that has kept this country in an ever worsening debt since the creation of the Fed.
