It's a pity that he died Square Enix actully Intended Zack to be the main protagonist in FF VII (as to why he has short black hair parallel to Sephiroth's) but the canged it to cloud as they thought people wouldn't like him.

Zack is a hero who never did anything wrong. Cloud is an emo who did many things wrong but just barely managed to redeem himself in the end. I think the differences speak for who is more awesome :D

Well, people like Zack have actually existed (but are very rare) so I don't really don't think of him as unrealistic. I definitely do see your point though. Sometimes characters are made too good.

And well, I never liked the first game really. I thought it had great potential but fell short. I think Crisis Core hit the mark of perfection though. So while Zack wasn't important till Crisis Core, I really don't care about that because CC is everything to me :D

@DreamgirlBlue Zack and Aerith fell in love, Aerith only liked Cloud simply because he acted so much like Zack. Aerith never loved Cloud, and Cloud was only around with Aerith for emotional support. Cloud and Tifa are lovers, it's been proven already. Anyhow, it's all by choice who you go on a date with in FFVII, but in all reality of the story, Aerith and Cloud were close friends, never love interests.

Actually, Aerith never loved Cloud. She thought she liked him for a while but soon realized that she did not like him, rather who he reminded her of. On your date (if you choose to go with Aerith) she says this to Cloud. As for Cloud, I think he also never really cared that much for Aerith. She was the nicest person he had ever met (and probably who ever existed) and his memories were being messed with so he had some of Zack's emotions, but he never really loved her.

Seriously people, the game isn't that amazing, I mean, it's great, but it's not amazing.

I was annoyed with the DMW always randomly starting up, the combat needed some help, and the random battles were annoying, I mean there's a certain amount of times I can hear "activating combat mode" before I get irritated.

Don't get me wrong, the game is great it just is in no way shape or form perfect, not even close, It obviously needed some work.
