Two very important things are needed: a good bed of charcoal and a good air velocity in order to keep the temperature above 700C° to make flammable gas.
Indeed, the gas produced in the pyrolyse zone must pass throught the bed of charcoal and then gas will be produced, that is why you need a good bed of charcoal and a good velocity.
if you want to save money on fuel with one wire watch my save money on fuel with one wire vid. Who needs a cell when you got a radiator full of the energy carrier (water) ;).
Stay tuned, I have a GEK gasifier Lv III kit and will be posting a video on the contents soon. I'll try to make videos every so often along the way showing the build. I'm only doing it in my schools shop so it may be a video every week, or every other week showing another part being put together.
(and yes there may be fast motion on some of the welding if it takes too long, no information or process will be skipped though)
@VulcanGasifier thanks, :) if i hadn't it would be Sooo long, i had like 2 hours+ of video to show. if you want funny in the newer video i got a back fire to the face, that was funny i jumped so much (my face wasnt actually over it, just close)
@rizla88 sorry, i didnt aim the description at the general public, i feel dumb. (i was in a hurry to put it up and forgot that)
Ok, so what your looking at is a gasifier, you put wood into it, it burns it and then something happens with the gas output... so you know that when a fire burns it lets off water vapor (if there was any moisture) and CO2 right?
well it takes that H2O and CO2 and puts then over a hot bed of charcoal (C), at those temperatures it strips the O from those molecules for
Right on! I appreciate the advise and great job on the build. I am going to be getting back to work on mine as soon as I can. Summer brings a lot of work around my house. Making it airtight seems to be a key factor all around. I look forward to your progress and will keep you informed of mine.
@sheltrown1117 Thanks! I like what you're doing too. your much further along than i am at this point though, mine has a lot of tar at the moment, not enough vac to reach higher temps...
@presentteck Thanks, glad you like it, just be careful when it starts pulsing like that, it can backfire and thats no fun. If you have any questions let me know and I'll try to help out if I can.
@sheltrown1117 yeah... it back fired a few times, all the insulations gone, it was caulk. not rated for that high of temps. i'll find some better stuff soon
@presentteck Got all the way thourgh your video cool what your doing but for the life of me i haven't a clue what it is i was looking at help me out please !!
yes it was distilling the Wood into a caraceen like compound that will burn once you get the water out.

itself, giving you CO and H2 (carbon monoxide & Hydrogen) witch are both flammable gases.
so you just take those gases, filter out the ash, cool it down a bit, and then you can run a motor off of wood!
(or run anything that natural gas would be ran off of.)

Just make sure no oxygen gets in the tank.
You're fucked if it does.
