This is the 1939 essay by Lee Strauss White on the Model T Ford. It was read by my father around 1961, a few years before his death, for the Library for the Blind Talking Books. I could be in a lot of trouble for uploading this material, but I don't care, I think it's wonderful!

"Farewell, My Lovely" was written by E. B. White. It first appeared in the New Yorker in May of 1936. Lee Strout White was a pseudonym.
