I believe Tuomas was probably in love with Tarja, but it was unfortunate that Tarja was already married, so it broke his heart. Having Tarja near was probably too painful for him, and so this may have been one small factor in why he so easily agreed with the rest of the band to kick her out.

@MoonInScorpio82 Look all that happened that I could see is that Tarja followed really bad advice from her businessman slash husband Marcelo who thought of Nightwish and as of herself as a professional vocalist as money. That resulted her in thinking that she was more valuable and that she should do a solo career which is a very clishe stunt pulled by many mangers and such. Her atitude changed and Nightwish became les of a top priority.
It's clear that Tuomas was (or is) in love with Tarja. i think they make a beautiful couple,but everything what's beautifull has to come to an end....
@darknessblackyuki666 Obviously. I wonder how many people release that 'Ever Dream' was for Tarja? And I think other songs too like 'Feel for you' and 'Ghost Love Score'. And you can tell that in Dark Passion Play there are no songs that express his love for someone else as there was in the albums in the Tarja era. He even made it clear to her husband that he was. It sweet but I don't think Tarja thought anything him but of a friend or a fellow band member.
Relationships grow apart, friends become enemies, yadda yadda. They've both moved on, now if only certain portions of their fanbases could do the same.

I don't think it was argument - it was more like they hardly talked anymore outside of work, and Tarja seemed to be placing other things in front of the band. You can read the letter he wrote to Tarja on their website. It should fill you in on some things, but I'm certain that it doesn't tell the whole story.
But yeah, it's really not as simple as making up in this situation. Tarja feels betrayed and the rest of the band can't deal with her anymore. It all sucks.

actually there are proofs... when marcelo answered to fans in tarjs's website, someone asked if tuomas felt something about tarja, marcelo said that he confronted tuomas and he just said and i quote "As usual he didn't speak much, but he said to me that nobody was going to be able to stop his love for Tarja." so its all true...
@mimsergaja But it only explains a lot from ONE side of the story. And when he was quoting Tuomas, he was probably taking what Tuomas said out of context to make his own story sound better.
But regardless, you'll believe Tarja and Marcelo, and I'll believe the band.
dont get me wrong i just want to understand, i dont want to pic sides, because i love Nightwish and Tarja, but sometimes there are things that make no sence... and some of these answers at least make some..
Tuomas hired on marcelo to be their manager. Tarja and marcelo eventually fell in love. According to the open letter tuomas gave to tarja, tuomas said that tarja was putting herself before the band, wanting more money, and ignoring the fans. He also blames Marcelo for part of the band breakup. After that, tarja and marcelo had to remove themselves from the band.
Thats the story from Tuomas' side anyway. The truth is anyone's guess, after reading both the infamous Open Letter and Marcelo's Response to the Fans Questions, my conclusion is bad communication between Nightwish's management, and Tarja's management. Marcelo was actually just Tarja's manager, Nightwish had some friend of Tuomas as manager.
these two would have been the perfect pair. Tarja was Tuomas Angel that he wished he had. Plus, in most to all the pictures, Tarja must have made Tuomas happy to be alive. It's really sad these two won't work together anymore and be together anymore.

Solo hay que ver las fotos para darse cuenta de que Tarja es para Tuomas y Tuomas es para Tarja, pero ahora que hay dolor y malentendidos de por medio no se puede hacer mucho, solo el tiempo puede aliviar y ojalá algún día vuelvan a encontrarse para siempre, claro, es solo un sueño, pero los sueños a veces se hacen realidad.

If Tuomas was in love with Tarja that would explain everything. That would be the reason why he was not abel anymore, after her marriage, to wright songs for her. He just could not do that anymore. And he might have started to think less clear about Tarja.

Siempre estáis con lo mismo criticando a Anette, cualquier vocalista que entrase en Nightwish lo tendría difícil, la música la hacen los músicos y Tarja ponía la voz que Tuomas le componía, lo bueno sigue en Nightwish, a mi personalmente no me gusta Tarja en solitario sabéis porqué? porque falta Tuomas, para mi el disco con Anette sigue siendo el mismo estilo, hay que darle tiempo, le falta rodaje. @MoonInScorpio82 Look all that happened that I could see is that Tarja followed really bad advice from her businessman slash husband Marcelo who thought of Nightwish and as of herself as a professional vocalist as money. That resulted her in thinking that she was more valuable and that she should do a solo career which is a very clishe stunt pulled by many mangers and such. Her atitude changed and Nightwish became les of a top priority.

@darknessblackyuki666 Obviously. I wonder how many people release that 'Ever Dream' was for Tarja? And I think other songs too like 'Feel for you' and 'Ghost Love Score'. And you can tell that in Dark Passion Play there are no songs that express his love for someone else as there was in the albums in the Tarja era. He even made it clear to her husband that he was. It sweet but I don't think Tarja thought anything him but of a friend or a fellow band member.

I don't think it was argument - it was more like they hardly talked anymore outside of work, and Tarja seemed to be placing other things in front of the band. You can read the letter he wrote to Tarja on their website. It should fill you in on some things, but I'm certain that it doesn't tell the whole story.
But yeah, it's really not as simple as making up in this situation. Tarja feels betrayed and the rest of the band can't deal with her anymore. It all sucks.

actually there are proofs... when marcelo answered to fans in tarjs's website, someone asked if tuomas felt something about tarja, marcelo said that he confronted tuomas and he just said and i quote "As usual he didn't speak much, but he said to me that nobody was going to be able to stop his love for Tarja." so its all true...

Tuomas hired on marcelo to be their manager. Tarja and marcelo eventually fell in love. According to the open letter tuomas gave to tarja, tuomas said that tarja was putting herself before the band, wanting more money, and ignoring the fans. He also blames Marcelo for part of the band breakup. After that, tarja and marcelo had to remove themselves from the band.

Thats the story from Tuomas' side anyway. The truth is anyone's guess, after reading both the infamous Open Letter and Marcelo's Response to the Fans Questions, my conclusion is bad communication between Nightwish's management, and Tarja's management. Marcelo was actually just Tarja's manager, Nightwish had some friend of Tuomas as manager.
