I am very happy to see the vidoe Figuring out the period, frequency, and amplitude of the harmonic motion of a mass attached to a spring after you give this
I Love The Video Figuring out the period, frequency, and amplitude of the harmonic motion of a mass attached to a spring. It Can Increase My Knowledge
doing IB HL Physics this make so much more sense to what my teacher is teaching us... he has no clue what so ever... when i watch these videos there is no panic to how im gonna pass my tests and quizzes, because everything here is so well explained thank a bunch!!! PS. our teacher says a property of electromagnetic waves is electromagnetic idk how i would have passed if it werent for your detailed explanations THANKS AGAIN!
@Blazerfreak2Gunz no way! I'm also doing IB except for I'm doing SL physic, but hearing that it helps an iBer makes this video more appealing to me! XD
i have a quiz on this tomorrow, wish me the best XP!
Would you be able to make a video about solving a system of many springs (i.e. 1-dimensional system, a spring attached to a mass attached to a spring and so on)?
I'm doing physics A2-Level and I love the theory, but hate the maths. In fact at AS-Level I basically failed 3 of my courses due to the pressure of maths so I dropped it. Even by skipping your calculus videos' I gain enough intuition to actually understand where the maths is coming from in my physics lessons and my revision. Because of this I can ACTUALLY do the maths anyway and understand the theory in a way I find easy to visualise and explain. Thank You Sal. You have saved my education.
hey i just wanted to thank you. because your videos really help me im a jr in high school taking ap physics b with a new teacher and she does not know what she is doing...at all. no joke we are 3 weeks behide and i feel like ive learned nothing. but anyways thanks a bunch keep it up :)
the cycle of starting potential energy changing to kinetic energy coupled with the springs constant will set a specific cycle rate, but dont take my word for it
You're videos are great! I wish I had known of them earlier when I was taking AP Calculus BC. No one has been able to make me understand underlying concepts as quickly as you and make them stick! I like the 10 min video limit. It gives me the endurance to finish watching more videos and keep watching and learning concepts! Thank you!
Have you any movies with "reverse" approach? I mean, solving the differential equation directly to get those functions analytically? Maybe you could show some methods of solving the SHM in next parts on SHM? [e.g. splitting it to a set of 2 coupled 1st order differential equations, factorizing the characteristic equation etc.]
And it would be also good to mention about its relation to imaginary numbers [Ae^iwt] and something about dumping, driving etc. What do you think?

This is great =D I am doing standard level physics in the IB system, never had physics before and your videos are very helpful!

What physical property is responsible for causing the spring to keep the same cycle per second? What establishes that rate?
