  • <3

  • Nirvanaaaa!

  • @Chehcar96 better :)

  • If you had half a clue about this song you would know Matts timing is a mile out at the start of the piano solo. Listen to other performaces when its right and you will hear. Sorry but its true!

  • @jammin1975 I think Matt's improvising around the tune, I don't think it's his timing.

  • OOH MYYYY GOD!

  • increíble!

  • im dieing and gettin born all the time listening

  • Dr. Matthew

  • great performance!!!

  • Muse is the definition of Epicness, the best band of the ´00 and probably the best band ever, im going to see them again in Argentina next 03/30 with U2

  • yes - great. Sounds like Zenyatta era Police

  • Pa' cagarse, nunca mejor dicho!!

  • tis canshion iss bery waw hahah zorry this song is well cool

  • Love the intro.

  • THE voice ♥

  • He don't need no mic!

  • Best version ever of this masterpiece!

  • Surely these guys are the most talented modern mainstream musicians around?!?!

    LOVE MUSE!!!

  • @Blackmark456 No, wrong. They're the most talented modern musicians around. But they are by no means mainstream

  • @linkinpark4life08 I'd call them fairly mainstream tbh. considering near enough EVERYONE i know has atleast an album or 2 by them. They are on alot of film soundtracks these days, on alot of adverts, and ALWAYS on the radio. If that aint mainstream, then i don't have a clue what is.

Mainstream doesn't always mean crap like ke$a, or jedward or something like that.

  • @Blackmark456 Hmm. Well the old Muse weren't mainstream. I still wouldn't say the "Real" Muse sound was mainstream. I wouldn't want them to be classed that way either, i think they're too unique to be classed as mainstream

  • @linkinpark4life08 I do agree with you in many ways, however mainstream music is not defined by the style, but rather how popular and well recieved it is. Plus muse are catchy enought that they're very accesible, not like a band like metallica who are huge(and bloody brilliant) but the majority of people don't realy like them. Muse however, well everyone loves a bit of muse!

  • @Blackmark456 no they dont, most people i know have never heard of them, and when i enlighten them, the are all too often disgusted, bloody chavs

  • This is my fav performance by muse..its just such a strong emotionial performance.

  • I wish I could find a tab for this. Anyone know where I can find a tab for the intro (the first 50 seconds) Thanks.

  • @MasterChief1408 go to "ultimate-guitar"

  • Mexicans also like to muse

  • people need to listen to muse now a days....could really he,p the US right now to some good music that can help the economy as well

  • 7 people missed the like button

  • Muse are almost unbelievably perfect live.

Since my CD broke I've sorely been missing this song; so uplifting and inspirational, as well as ambitious and beautiful. It really has everything.

    Nice one, Muse :)

  • "Del directo en el festival de Glastonbury (2004) Pa' cagarse..."

Y pa' mear y no echar gota... :o

  • Fuck me. if i were gona die, i wana die to this piece of music

  • this is an amazing song. muse really knows how to use suspension and resolution. as a pianist, the piano solo in the middle very inspiring. great job muse!

  • does anyone want tabs for the intro riff?

  • awesome!!!!

  • 0:46....dom is like a little boy..

btw.....why do i love the way that every drumer gives the bit at the beggining?

  • era where Muse classified as Music Geniuses. no doubt about it.

  • @killerkite333 still are

  • Una de mis canciones favoritas de siempre

  • Matthew Bellamy is so talented. I think that is my favorite piano solo in all of modern rock.

They are definitely my favorite live band ever.

  • @CochinoMono listen jens johanson ragtime piano... i prefer it.. but i also love this solo :D

  • @CochinoMono

isnt the piano solo a cover of some classical pianist? i dont forgot his name though...

  • @xXFoofighterXx no just influenced, i think the pianist you thought of is rachmaninov

  • One of the greatest songs ever , plain and simply....LIVE.....The guitar solo totally changes the pace of the track in a HUGE WAY and made what was an already good song absolutely marvellous and full of epic glory here

  • your time iiis your time iis now !

  • Chris is so fucking amazing!

  • completely incredible...seriously, how talented can you be?

  • Masterpiece.

  • Is that a flanger or a phaser his using during the verse? it sounds a bit over the top to be a flanger...

  • Awesome performance by the best live band on earth!

  • Omg!! The best live act!

  • puffff grandioso directo

  • awesome! So this is what they call a LIFE performance ;)

  • si esta muy chingona, como dices pa'cagarse

  • the best intro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Perfect

  • that guitar solo make this version epic... the original version need a guitar solo ... 5 +

  • This is the best live performance of Butterflies ever. Even better than Wembley, and with the guitar solo and improved piano solo, it is almost as good as the studio version.

  • I wouldn't say the piano solo is improved....I've always found Matt to be a bit too fond of adding glissandi to his solos in live performances (see the Hullabaloo version of Space Dementia as a perfect example).

The guitar solo is a huge addition, however, and improves the song immensely.

  • wow....immense talent...INSANE!

  • @IrishFan1989 Yeah I (L) it lol :)

  • 0:00 - 0:50 Love the intro

  • @MasterChief1408 the intro is sweet.

  • love this version!

  • God i love muse

  • I didn't know they were this incredible!

  • los putos amos!!!

29 días para ver a estos dioses :D

    (L)

  • I LOVE MUSE! so hawt...

    piano <3

  • pedazo d video! el nuevo album genial!

  • That piano solo still gives me cold chills

  • O-M-G. Increíble!

  • Phucking awesome =)

  • best,

you've got to be the best

you've got to change the world

and you use this chance to be heard

    your time is now

    great !!!

  • do you think he practiced the first part of the piano solo beforehand? cuz i've never heard that version, but it's ridiculous to think anything that good AND hard could be improv. the only reason i even consider is cuz it's matt

  • It's in the song itself. : )

  • The solo itself is a very good variation on a Rachmaninov concerto. So, no, it's not improv.

  • when he starts singing, what's that in the background? it sounds terrible, i must say

  • love muse and dominic howard

    he is a great drummer!

  • incredible piano solo

how can he imagine that solo ??

its very agressive and it has a lot of harmouniously,,, that

  • The intro !! omg, fkn nice !! =D

  • I can say Matt is a remarkably talented little fucker. Virtuous on the piano as well! Brian plays piano and keys amazing FYI=o). Also Mathews voice is unmistakable, unique and seemingly limitless. Hes not an icon yet but if he continues he will be. I had openheart surgery(valve replacement) 3 years ago. I had an ipod with Butterflies and Hurricanes, that was it., but it was all I needed. I was convinced through my tears that it was the most amazing thing I ever heard. Vicodin, morphine and Muse

  • My heart goes to you man

  • Thanks I appreciate your positive energy.

  • Don't mention it dude. I know the feeling and pain

  • rly great intro :D

  • I just realized Freddie Mercury would have loved to sing with Muse also I think Freddie would have performed this song well. Brian May could take this guitarsolo to a new height as well. LOVE MUSE!!!

  • with the ska intro..we never bored with them

  • i think Mathew is actually better then Brian though

  • Wow really? No disrespect but, I always thought Brian May was better cinsidering the classical runs abnd scales the he uses so dominantly. Mathew is amazing but Im not sure I can agree he is better than the guitarist from Queen. May seems to be more classic and technical as well.

  • yeah i see what your getting too, good point.

  • I love these version of Butterflies and Hurricanes.

  • the intro is awesome should be made into a song

  • Letting you know, it transformed into City of Delusion!

  • Comment removed

  • BEST INTRO EVER

  • assassin's intro is by far better, but the rest of this song is by far better than assassin! :)

  • Opinion, my friend. Assassin is my secong favorite. Citizen Erased is my favorite, and this is my third.

  • My faves are this, Take a Bow, Citizen Erased, Apoaclypse and Hoodoo. :)

  • THINK HE MEANT THE JAM, GUYS

  • i wasnt talking about muse failing, this was a reply i dont know how it got here -.-

  • man it was like ' shit, better put my guitar down and start shredding on the piano' lol

  • i usually listen to this song when i`m nervous (idk, it makes me feel more calm, lol)

    muse ftw!!!

  • je kiffe l'intro !

  • That lab coat pwns all!

  • I whole heartedly agree!

  • he's a mad doctor lol

  • I want to have a piano lesson with Matt Bellamy. :-)

  • Don't we all :P

  • By the way, I'm referring to both a literal piano lesson and a "piano lesson"....if you catch my drift.......

  • lol i know yeah.

  • i want to have a drum lesson with dom :p

  • Lol he's very naurally good but he would suck at giving lessons seeing as he picked it up without lessons himself!

  • Alright, I'll settle for a "piano lesson" only then :p

I already know how to play the piano anyway. (although I certainly cannot play like him though, despite seven years of lessons)

  • Hell yes! I've been wondering for a long time what that first little jam was from because it plays on the main menu screen of the Glastonbury DVD. Thank you to whoever posted this. You made my day!

  • Haha its just at the end of the song before B+H, cant remember what it is, and cant be bothered to find out.

But yer it took me a while.

  • Oh is it on the Glastonbury DVD? Like besides the title screen?

  • Yer it is! Just before Butterflies and Hurricanes. When you click on the song it plays from just after the riff so just rewind it.

  • Oh man...I feel like a dumbass. Haha.

  • good job, muse..

  • he looks like peter facinelli

  • any1 kno where to get the tabs for the riff at the start

  • If you want one I can make it and send it to you. It's SUPER easy though so I would implore you to try and learn it by ear. It starts on the 12th fret, D string to give you a starting point. But if you still want it just message me back and I'll send you one.

  • uhh yes cause B&H is played in D too :)

  • I didn't know that but that would make sense. Haha.

  • yh man id love it coz i really cannot find it anywhere

  • 5:50 chris's tapping... ooft, thats shit hot !

  • its only two finger tapping... matt does six on new born at wembley

  • six finger tapping ? you only have five fingers on your hand mate ! and you should check billy sheehan, and check his tapping !

  • so i'm guessing you only have one hand then.

  • he didnt state it was two handed... :| cuz its not that amazong if its two

  • billy sheehan's god tapping

  • Get back to me when you've learned to a) two finger tap to a consistent rhythm and b) sing harmony in the background simultaneously. I want to hear it performance ready, and then, I want to see you do it front of thousands of people.

After you do that, I defy you to use the word "only" to describe anything Wolstenholme is doing up there. :)

  • This is the most amazing live I'm ever seen! After this video Muse became one of my favourite bands!

  • what song is that on t he first 50 seconds??

  • It's just them jamming out for a bit. Like how they have that little bit of improv before Time is Running Out on HAARP.

  • Matthew Bellamy is just freaken awesome! I love muse!

  • love theeem !!

  • I never knew piano could be so well integrated into alternative music. This is so amazing. Especially because it's live.

  • did you know that they use a Rachmaninoff piano concerto in this song??? what legends!!!!

  • God almighty!

  • the good days of muse...

  • um the good days? what are you talking about? they're still amazing :)
