drugs can generate brain seizures or worsen a latent illness. It's obvious that a person that uses these drugs in industrial amounts as Florence Griffith did (i'm sure she was ultra-drugred to improve that much in only one year) isn't gonna die of brain seizure at all cases, but the risk is higher. And if you have the illness since you were born, the drugs increase much more that risk.
I love Evelyn Ashford. One of the last pure runners. She didn't have bulky muscles (enhanced or otherwise.) she was just plain fast, and an honor for America to have her in it's uniform. She won the Gold in the 4x 100m relay. Receiving a bad hand off from FloJo, she ran the leaders down from behind and captured gold. Simply great.
Ashford was so amazing; she was 2nd to last out the blocks (horrible start), caught up & passed everyone except FloJo, and still landed a 10.84! I think she could have probably beaten her record had she got out of the blocks!

drugs can generate brain seizures or worsen a latent illness. It's obvious that a person that uses these drugs in industrial amounts as Florence Griffith did (i'm sure she was ultra-drugred to improve that much in only one year) isn't gonna die of brain seizure at all cases, but the risk is higher. And if you have the illness since you were born, the drugs increase much more that risk.

I love Evelyn Ashford. One of the last pure runners. She didn't have bulky muscles (enhanced or otherwise.) she was just plain fast, and an honor for America to have her in it's uniform. She won the Gold in the 4x 100m relay. Receiving a bad hand off from FloJo, she ran the leaders down from behind and captured gold. Simply great.

It was never proven, nor did FloJo ever have a positive test. However, there are too many similarities between her and Ben Johnson. Both did OK in '84, but in '88 they are both MASSIVE with muscle, and aren't just breaking world records, but CRUSHING them. We all know what happened to Benny. Flo got out before she got caught.

Back then, drug use was all about timing. You stop using a few months before a meet so as not to test positive. Ben simply timed it wrong, Flo timed it right. Shortly thereafter, random out of competition drug testing was announced. That's when Flo retired AT THE TIP TOP of her career. That seemed a bit fishy.
