  • live???? LOL!

  • that comment is SHOCKING. this is not a live performance at all!!!! are you deaf?

  • Excellent!!!

  • the beatles forever

  • Yup, it's '65. I can tell by Ringo's haircut,

  • this was not live ... it still happens on tv appearences : full playback. But ... who cares. They are the greatest.

  • Lennon's hair says it all,it NEVER was that long in 64,it's pure 'Rubber Soul' look.

  • Can't believe some of the comments. The obvious is obvious! I think we can all agree on NOT LIVE and NOT '64...!!! Some are saying that they are really performing live but the studio audio was later dubbed. Ridiculous! This is a well documented promo shot. There are no microphones and no guitar chords connected to amplifiers. In fact, no amplifiers...!!!

  • It was not live... at the time being, they stopped touring...

  • This video is well documented. It is the official music video for Day Tripper. The studio version of the song was dubbed onto a video of the band performing it. There is another video, for the B-Side - We Can Work it Out - recorded in the same session. And it is NOT from '64. There is no possible way it could be. The song just wasn't written yet.

  • I like this version.I want to see the band performing the song, but I want it to sound really good, too... I got both with this one. Thanks for posting, Fab4FanClub !!

  • i guarantee this isnt live, this is a recorded playback, theres even the guitar cut out thats in the record

  • this really isnt a live performance.. this is the music video but not a live performance.. and the song wasnt released til 65 btw.. september something

  • this really isnt a live performance.. this is the music video but not a live performance.. and the song wasnt released til 65 btw.. september something

  • This is not a live performance and it's not from '64.

It's playback and probably from late '65 or '66.

  • @Fab4FanClub No mate it's not live. Listen to the studio recording and compare. No difference. But hey, if it were a live performance, where's the microphones then and who's playing the tambourine?

  • @Fab4FanClub its not live. where are the chords from the guitar to the amps? they wern't developed in the sixties yet. and where are the mics? and where is the the tambourine ? in live preformances of this song ringo used the hi hat instead of a tambourine

  • @Fab4FanClub u call urself a fan, this is not live! if so, where are the amps and michs? where are the leads????? this was oviously some sort of music vid in late 65 or 66.

  • @Fab4FanClub

leplum19 is right - There aren't even microphones for them to sing. It's playback.

  • @Fab4FanClub This is 100% not a live recording. It is definitely the version from the album.

I don't think they were using playback I think they would have been playing it live just the album version was overdubbed on the video at some point.

  • @Fab4FanClub In which case, why does it seem to be exactly the same as the recording

  • @Fab4FanClub The Beatles are MIMING to the studio recording of Day Tripper. It was one of ten promotional films shot by Intertel VTR Services at Twickenham Studios, on Tuesday, November 23, 1965. Directed by Joe McGrath.

  • @Fab4FanClub Come on, this is obviously the studio version and the song was written in late 1965, so it can't be from 1964 anyway. And you call yourself a "fan club"?

  • @Fab4FanClub This is top of the pops 65. So not live and not from 64.

  • @Fab4FanClub Well, Day Tripper was released in late '65, so why would you want to research that?

  • @Fab4FanClub That's bullshit. It's obviously the studio version. And don't call yourself "we," it's creepy.

  • @TheHolyMarshmallow don't hate- watch something else if you don't like it..

  • @iwishiwasbornin1950 No I love the beatles, but like, this guy isn't fooling anybody
