Can't believe some of the comments. The obvious is obvious! I think we can all agree on NOT LIVE and NOT '64...!!! Some are saying that they are really performing live but the studio audio was later dubbed. Ridiculous! This is a well documented promo shot. There are no microphones and no guitar chords connected to amplifiers. In fact, no amplifiers...!!!
This video is well documented. It is the official music video for Day Tripper. The studio version of the song was dubbed onto a video of the band performing it. There is another video, for the B-Side - We Can Work it Out - recorded in the same session. And it is NOT from '64. There is no possible way it could be. The song just wasn't written yet.
I like this version.I want to see the band performing the song, but I want it to sound really good, too... I got both with this one. Thanks for posting, Fab4FanClub !!
this really isnt a live performance.. this is the music video but not a live performance.. and the song wasnt released til 65 btw.. september something

@leplum19 we can assure you that it is a live performance, we researched and we blocked out the crowd voices as you could not hear the song properly. You could be right about it bieng in 65, I will research that, thanks for you comment.
@Fab4FanClub No mate it's not live. Listen to the studio recording and compare. No difference. But hey, if it were a live performance, where's the microphones then and who's playing the tambourine?
@Fab4FanClub its not live. where are the chords from the guitar to the amps? they wern't developed in the sixties yet. and where are the mics? and where is the the tambourine ? in live preformances of this song ringo used the hi hat instead of a tambourine

@Fab4FanClub u call urself a fan, this is not live! if so, where are the amps and michs? where are the leads????? this was oviously some sort of music vid in late 65 or 66.
@Fab4FanClub The Beatles are MIMING to the studio recording of Day Tripper. It was one of ten promotional films shot by Intertel VTR Services at Twickenham Studios, on Tuesday, November 23, 1965. Directed by Joe McGrath.
@Fab4FanClub Come on, this is obviously the studio version and the song was written in late 1965, so it can't be from 1964 anyway. And you call yourself a "fan club"?
live???? LOL!

This is not a live performance and it's not from '64.
It's playback and probably from late '65 or '66.

leplum19 is right - There aren't even microphones for them to sing. It's playback.

@Fab4FanClub This is 100% not a live recording. It is definitely the version from the album.
I don't think they were using playback I think they would have been playing it live just the album version was overdubbed on the video at some point.

@Fab4FanClub In which case, why does it seem to be exactly the same as the recording
