  • Must you always use the clarifying shampoo? Are there clarifying conditioners that can get the chlorine out of your hair.

  • @congenialous08 you need to use something which removes the pool stuff from your hair. I'm not aware of any but I'm sure a quick google search will reveal if there are any for you. I would always use a clarifying shampoo after to be safe :)

  • Great video. Do you apply a conditioner to your hair after the clarifying shampoo. How often do u swim.

  • @congenialous08 Hiya, I used to swim every week but because of the poor English weather I haven't been in ages, apart from when I was on holiday. Yes I always deep condition after clarifying otherwise my hair would not have any moisture in it- which isn't good.

  • Ah...it's a shame it's so much work. But thank you so much! I'm so glad that I can still go swimming.

  • @jacmme101 :)

  • My daughter swims competitively and has afro textured hair and this is the best video I've seen to protect her hair. Just in time for her swim meet tomorrow. Thanks for this :D

  • @Mochafairiemonster Aw I wish her the best of luck! I hope it went well!!

  • this helps so muchh!

  • Nice video! It helped me out a lot! Thx!

  • @LovelyLady8505 it's ok!

  • Rinsing with Vitamin C after swimming in chlorinated water is the BEST thing for your hair and skin. Chlorine sticks to your hair and skin. You can't simply wash it away in the shower. And most chlorine-removal products don't work. SwimSpray is a vitamin C spray with lots of vitamin C.

  • aloe rid no longer sold iin the US :( any alternatives ?

  • @mzlatinnnagurl heya. Ion has a swimmers shampoo and so does Charles Wortherington (sp?) so you can check does out I guess

  • Great video! Just signed my daughter up for swim lessons and was really concerned about what to do about her hair. Thanks!!

  • @amtsales that's great. It is so important for children to learn how to swim early! Well done and I hope she enjoys them!

  • do you have to wear a swimming cap cause i dont reallly want to.

  • @awesome101243 you don't have to but it's good if you want to try and protect your hair as much as you can- it prevents the hair from getting drenched

  • Now this was a Really Good Video! Thanks for teaching me how to care for my natural hair I appreciate you!

  • @LightwalkerRamonaJ aw thanks Ramona!!!!!!! :-)

  • Even if you use a swimming caps and protect the hair, you should always wash/shampoo your hair?

  • @sweetfm2008 hey, sorry for the late reply, had exams. yes you should because your hair still gets wet despite the cap- it won't be drenched but will still be damp- so need to remove the little chlorinated water that got through the cap

  • Haven't been able to do much swimming due to a knee injury but your instructions did help a lot. Water exercises are great when you're injured but getting to and from the pool is such a pain, so for now, no swimming :(

  • @2000S3000E aw I hope your knee get's better. I've prayed for you so hopefully you'll have a quicker recovery. What have your doctors said to do e.g. what type of stretches for your knee?

  • Great video, I'm going on holiday soon so this helps alot.

Plus its great the advice is coming from an other Brit, dont see much of us on here.

  • @weirdocentric23 :-) wish i was going on holiday this year!!!

  • Thanks for the great information. I just started swimming and was worried about the effects of chlorine on my hair.

  • @2000S3000E it's ok :-)

  • Where can you get it?

  • @xxlivixbooxx any hair shop should sell it. i buy it from different ones

  • great vid i never thought of using oil instead.. thanks x

  • @foxynerd101 :-) my pleasure

  • Thanks a lot! I plan to start swimming several times a week soon. This was EXTREMELY helpful.

  • @TheLovelyLadyE my pleasure!

  • @silverflowers1 Finding your video was awesome, and I'd like to use coconut oil, but if I go to bed at midnight, and wake up at 7 AM to go swimming, it's been in for less than 12 hours. And if I go after work, I can't use it at all because I can't have coconut oil in my hair at work. For the morning, is 7 hours enough time? For after work, is there something I can put in my hair right before swimming? Thanks so much for this great video!
