@roobelson Yea, you'll like it. It's a nice scope. Just make sure you remember to turn off the red dot or else if you put it away with it left on the battery will run dead. Thanks for commenting. /John
@knightlike101 Well, for the price you get the mount (which is worth maybe $150) and the Fastfire red-dot which is probably another $100. I don't regret this purchase. Having said that, I just ordered a new rifle and I just bought a new Swarovsky 1-6x scope that cost more than twice this price of this Burris and that was for the scope alone, no mount or red dot. You pay for good glass. /John
@knightlike101 I don't regret my purchase. As for the red dot on top, I found that it is too far from the barrel center line and bullet point of impact will quickly move off its zero point as you change your distance which you zeroed the red dot. I suggest you get a 45* side mount and mount the red dot off to the side and closer to the barrel. /John
Awesome video, we just mounted the 3-12X-50mm to a 16" Bushmaster at work today which is what got me looking at these :-) you wouldn't happen to know the range to that far target would you?
Thanks for showing the actual reticle through the scope, lit, unlit and magnified. Many people miss that but it is so important to us who are interested in buying one. The Burris speed dot is not bright enough for 3 gun close in fast action - there are better options, J-point, C-More. There are some reliability problems too as I personally know of three with dots you can hardly see.
@nodeltas Yea, you can't see the illuminated red reticle in daylight. You can see it if you shoot with both eyes open and if your right eye is not looking straight through the scope - but can see the red reticle against the dark. If left eye sees the target and right eye sees a red reticle on the target (binocular vision) then that's when it would be useful. I haven't practiced shooting that way much yet. I do have my eye on another scope for a new rifle, but it's twice the price. /John
@gasdorf Thanks. Yea, it looks sweet. But actually, the red dot scope on top is too high above the barrel bore axis. Even if you zero the red dot at 25 yards, at 5 yards you will be striking the target like 4 inches below point of aim. I since have removed the red dot and mounted it to the rail using a 45 degree mount. I'll have to make another review video. I do love the scope though. Thanks /John
@shasha1873 The reticle is calibrated to correct the flight path of a 62gn bullet out of a 5.56 / .223 cartridge. I'm sure you could zero the scope in for a .308, but the reticle hold-over marks will be off. You would have to figure out how many minutes of angle each mark represents with the new bullet. I use 69gn bullets and that's what I did. To my knowledge, Burris has a 1.5x-6x040mm scope with a 7.62 Ballistic reticle. Check out their website. Thanks for commenting. /John
Nice. I have nothing but good things about that scope. I have been thinking about picking one up for myself. I Have a good friend in the Nave spec. ops and he was telling me that the ACOG with the DR red dot is the way to go but I think having that adjustable seems pretty nice to have. Come back with how you like it.
@DemonHide Yea, I wanted an ACOG first but I wasn't sure about the fixed 4x zoom and having to get used to shooting with both eyes open on close-up targets, if using the ACOG up close. I thought this one may suite my needs better while being a few bucks cheaper. We'll see. Thanks for watching & commenting. /John
I just got this scope today and it is great. I haven't taken it to the range yet but I like everything I see so far from it.

@bearing01 I've seen these for no less then $750. So if you think it's worth it, I might try one out and get a Leupold VX-R to compare it to.

Very nice optics, but too bad about the black mark on the botton right of the scope in the scope itself.

@bearing01 4 inches below point of aim ...i think burris needs a special mil dot for mounting on scope

@bearing01 Dude, I just got a MLT ar in .308. Will that scope work on it fine? That is a very nice scope by the way.
