Okay guys i think we all get the point that the movie isnt as good as the book...WHEN is the movie EVER as good or better than a book itself?!?!?! #StopBeotchin
What the hell is this film? Huxley (the author of the orgiinal book) deserved better! The book this film's based on is probably one of the greatest literary takes from the20th Century on social dystopia and it was used to make this excuse for a movie? I couldn't agree more from the comments I've read from previous parts, that it reads like a cheap porn movie from the 80's. Whoever produced this film should be disgraced by this cheap, crap effort
i was worried that the 'brave new world' would just be a slightly altered reflection of today's world, but watching this actually made me feel better about the world we are currently living in- we're far from perfect... but we still treasure love, we feel compassion, we have free speech and we often put loved ones before ourselves.
I can´t see nothing wrong with the movie isn´t a faithful version of the book is just an adaptation. but one thing I say the brave world is very near of our present reality.
true, check out Brave New World Revisited, an essay in which Huxley arguments how the world is turning more into the society of brave new world, very detailed and interesting
@LauryTyler actually, they are getting true, there are a lot of things people themselves have invented that can be used to distract our thoughts, for example, tv, a normal person wakes up goees to work comes back home and watches tv and thats most of his life, we create so many distractions that when we want to see the truth its not that pretty
Our everyday life IS what we call truth. And it's not like the state would ecourage us to take drugs, on the contrary. You're also not forced to watch TV. And you aren't conditioned to do a specific job. And children are still not decanted. So what's the big deal.
@LauryTyler your right, then again thats how they started doing it, did ya read the book? slowly but surely some organization started making sure people did the stuff they wanted them to do by subliminal messages, constant advertising, etc.until finally they gained control and established things as you see them in brave new world so there would be no more wars or anything bad, to prevent anything bad they controlled everything people did through various indirect means
Had it not been for the mention of Soma, I may not have drawn a link between the book and film; that said; although the film is no way near as hard hitting as the book, it has a certain entertainment value.
i don´t know, if that´s about me or about metho, but I´m 19, i had to read the book, so there was no other way but to read it and my grammar is not THAT good, because I´m from Germany and I do not write in English everyday.
And Huxley is a great author? Have you ever read Shakespeare? THAT´s great. Developed characters, a theme, that is interesting ...but Huxley just seemed to want to fight the whole world. you can do this with a non-fictional text! would´ve been better
But Shakespeare also wrote fiction... So I don't get your point.
Are you telling me that you believe the novel Brave New World did not have a theme? The development of characters is a matter of opinion, although I would strongly disagree with you. But saying it does not have a theme is simply wrong.
I LIKE fiction, even science fiction - some things - and I don´t think BNW doesn´t have a theme at all. there is one, but only because Huxley wanted to fight with the world, because he was angry about the system. Well, there are better ways to change the world but to write a novel. that´s what I meant, THIS kind of theme doesn´t belong to a fictional text
I do think Huxley is a great author; perhaps if the film were a little less loosely based; it would have been better apreciated. and omg. I have not had an onion roll for years :)

the movie is better than the book, the books is just ....crap. Who imagines a world like this? even to make people start to THINK it´s TO bad....every one of the characters i stupid, even the ones, who´d like to change things
What are you talking about? No I'm being serious here, what in the hell are you babbling about? Damn! Really? Do you even understand what a theme is to a literary work? Jesus Christ, how can somebody be this damn stupid and still have the nerve to critize a work of great American literature? There's no way you could have read this book because based on your spelling and grammar I find it very hard to believe you made it past the first page.
I am glad too, that i am not the only one who likes the movie :) i love it! Every single part of the it. Most of the people here haven't get the essential message, the main point of the movie. God bless the moviemakers to make such an unbelievable piece of achievement.
The best part of the movie are the characters themselves - they make the movie unique (i think huxley would have like them too).
If Huxley were to watch this movie he would have thanked God he was blind and would have mutilated his own eardrums. Jesus, what the hell is wrong with people? You know what, I know for a fact that you haven't read this book. I have no doubt that you simply went and read the summary off the back of the novel at Barnes and Noble. How old are you, 12? If you truly read the book and enjoyed the movie then you have down syndrome. You are a fucking moron.
