Oldtimer's used to put ingredients in metal coffee can and sit can inside a bucket with ice all around it--they'd pour a little salt on ice and then sit and twist the can back and forth in ice--they had it the hard way--whew!

This is what I do I get vanilla,sugar and milk and put it in a bag then close the bag...then...get another bag fill it with ice and salt then I put the bag with sugar,vanilla extract and milk into the nag with salt and ice then close the bag with ice and salt after u have put the bag with sugar,milk and vanilla in it and shake until u see it look like ice cream then eat it....!

guys there is another way to make ice cream all u need is a small ziploc bag, big ziploc bag and milk sugar ice and salt, here are the directions put milk vanilla and sugar into the small ziploc bag, then after that put it in the big ziploc bag, and than fill the big bag up with ice until the ice covers the milk in the small bag, then put salt ontop of the ice a half a cup or keep sprinkling until u think u have enough close it and shake it until it turns solid take it out and enjoy trust me

@lipsynch86 to make it without a maker you do the following.

Put ice and salt into a bag.

Put 1cup of milk 4tablespoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract into a diferent bag.

zip the one with milk in it and put it into the one with ice in it. then zip the one with ice in it.

Lastly shake the bag from 7-15minutes.

id recommend using gloves because of how cold it gets.
