The song, Space Oddity, is actually originally by Bowie, not by Peter Schilling. Bowie had two songs about Major Tom before Peter Schilling released his song continuing the story.

I just saw this on TV. My first instincts told me it was Cat Power. She has that soft, smoky, bluesy voice when she sings. There's another Youtube video called Cat Power "Space Oddity" (David Bowie cover) that could confirm the owner of that voice.

Lincoln has put up downloadable versions of some of the songs in their commercials (such as Sia for "Under the Milky Way"). I hope they put one up for this one as well. I love Cat Power.
