  • total classic right here, reminds me of KCRW back when they didnt have playslists, jason bentley used to play this jam alot. Farcelona i would recommend Mateo & Matos, The Idjut Boys, Gus Gus, and Ian Pooley to name a few

  • This record brings me in from other rooms. It's had a hold on me for years.

  • @ FARCELONA1 DJ FUDGE, CHARLES WEBSTER, YMC, CHRIS BRANN, HISOHI, DUBTRIBE SOUND SYSTEM, JT DONALDSON, TOM MIDDLETON.... TO NAME A FEW OFF THE TOP. GOOD LUCK DIGGING!

  • Could anyone recommend some other 90's house producers similar to this? I'm all over current stuff but this still kills it...

  • @BeatFRK J Dilla and Pépé Bradock both sampled 'Little Sunflower' (1979) by Freddie Hubbard.

  • f.....king great track here thanks

  • House music is universal...I started DJing in 89...I was playing all of this deep house and tech house, and all that, and it was way ahead of most of my friends time...then they came over and we had sessions where I would spin for them, and they became househeads...I have converted many....

  • first heard this on Web-TV back in 1999, bought it on vinyl years later when I figured out what it was called, easily one of the top five House tracks ever made

  • great :D

  • Life moves pretty fast ,but this track slows it it down and helps you appreciate the groove

  • Non mi stanco mai di ascoltarla...Un capolavoro!

  • Quando si dice che una canzone ti tocca!!

  • HAIGE

  • i cry everytime I hear this track...reminds me of the good old days when I lived in the Cass Corridor. Woodward ave... Better Days, the Bankle Building...Hart Plaza....Grizwalald...Eastern Market... A samosa from the Mediteranenan Cafe (now closed) how I miss the old Detroit!

  • i was never into underground music, but then i discover this...jesus

  • @vlada92serbia Its the way forward...

  • if someone listen to drum and bass, some one sampled his in a wonderfull Liquid track, but dont remeber the name. Beautifull

  • @AlexRoody /watch?v=4Mdagug7v-Y i love this one

  • my dad was playing these tunes while I was growing up, taking me to free parties in fields where he DJ'd. I did my teenage rebellion thing but now I listen to it and it takes me back to when i was about 13, waking up in a humid tent at 6 in the morning, stepping out into a bath of sunrise and good vibes.

  • @beaubishop121 your dad is cool

  • @beaubishop121 I know how you feel. Makes me wanna cry sometimes when i daydream about my past partying days. Been WAY too long since i went to a party. I think I`ll make that my new years resolution. lol

  • @beaubishop121 when you were 13?

  • @NGRVOLLEY yeh mate. All the party heads took their kids to the free parties in the 90's.

  • @beaubishop121 son, im proud.

  • @beaubishop121 cool story bro, for real.

  • @beaubishop121 my daughters all have grown to love this also... ;)

  • BRUTAL!! I heard this song for the first time in my life a year ago through one of the Pandora stations that I listen to when I'm da house mood. Two days ago, the same station and BOOM, the song was played again and this is definitively AWESOME and timeless(echoing others here). Where can I buy this mp3? iTunes doesn't have it and I WANT IT!

  • @Mayechichi why don't you just convert the youtube file into an mp3, there are many websites out there dedicated to the conversion of youtube videos

  • @Mayechichi Its on Gilles Peterson's World Wide Volume 1.

I lost this CD sometime ago and have missed it. Another great quiet dark night track or one to listen to while flying down the freeway in the city.

  • This song deserves a few million more views than it has....

  • Damn... just heard this for the first time today... always inspiring that there are gems like this floating around out there for me to discover :D

  • I love that people are still hearing this track for he first time, and it's STILL having the same effect on them. This track is TIMELESS. I transports me to a dimension that is alllll miiiiinnnne.

  • Masterful use of the Freddie Hubbard Sample... Elegant Beautiful Builder. Transcendent. I remember picking it up on 12" from a NuJazz/House store on the West Side in 2000 & It became one of my fav. songs and still is; Just Gorgeous. So Classy.

  • Oh my god! What a record!!! Pure house music!

  • STRICTLY FOR THE LOVE

  • 6 people will never burn...

  • I feel as though i am immersed in the deep sea of emotion riding a wave of jubilation on my way to the beginning of no end where all is one and the nectar of love flows from the source that is within.

  • whenever I hear this now all I can hear in the background is the remix.......hey baby.

  • It's funny how the violons sounds like pads withouth the highs.

  • The PBS station WHUT in DC was using this with their station ID a few years back.

  • This is a beautiful track and will always be with me.

  • For the original, check out Freddie Hubbard "Little Sunflower"... then you can hear the difference! Pepe Bradock did a great job on this remix....

  • @alcorbi Thanks man, never heard of Freddie Hubbard, but now i like him !

  • @alcorbi excellent catch, nice dude! but technically i dont think this is a remix, i think he just sampled the strings from the intro..i dont hear anything else from the freddie hubbard track

  • on repeat!

  • sometimes i think deep house needs to develop an "in medias res" format. it might produce the vasty goodness.

  • @woahj i think it's freddie hubbard-little sunflower

  • Such an amazing track, the builds and falls of the strings are beautiful

  • now this is real music :)

  • one of the best deep house tracks ever!

  • And then one day I found out about Pepe. And I discovered that one of his biggest hits was ''Deep Burnt'' so I checked youtube for the song. I played it. And from that moment I realised how beautiful and touching music can really be. Thanks Pepe.

Greetings from a 17 years old fan.

  • A long time ago I was as commercial as fuck. I listened to commercial craploads, my mind was spoiled by mediocre commercial crap. I thought that music was supposed to be like that. Until one day. On a birthday of a girlfriend of mine. A guy introduced me to underground music. And from the moment I heard that music I was deeply touched. Deeply touched by the highly experimental sounds of Deep house, detroit house, acid house, chicago house. And I started searching all over the net for this music

  • @dsmaster92 me too

  • @dsmaster92 now start with french house and you are musically fulfilled :D

  • @daftklausi I'm a HUGE fan of Daft Punk, so I know what French House is al about, haha:P

  • @dsmaster92 check out pansoul by motorbass, this is where daft punk drew a lot of his inspiration from, also daphreephunkateers

  • @dsmaster92 Sounds like you enjoy the music. There's a new girl in London called 'Maya Jane Coles' you should check out her tunes, really nice house music.

  • @dsmaster92 thats a truely great comment . fair play to you kipper !

  • @dsmaster92

  • @dsmaster92

  • @dsmaster92 Damn straight!! You said it the best. This track takes me to a very special place, where music was always great, and the people truly danced to escape. I'll never forget!! Respect!

  • I sort of crashed into this tune! But, but, but, I've played it "SILLY!" It's mellow! It's cool! It's me... I pushed it to my FACEBOOK page, and plus, I've saved it to "My Favorites!" • classic deep house. great tune!!!

  • Great track here thanks for posting

  • Can't find it on i-Tunes and so want it on my i-Pod. Brings back so many memories.

  • This music makes me long for the days when I'd be dancing past dawn in some black-out pub in Rotherhithe, totally off our tits, not making any sense whatsoever, but not talking. Loads of amyl nittrate. Nostalgia!

  • I've been quietly turning people on to this track for quite a few years now and Frankie Bones has got it spot on. It just gets through to people of all tastes.

Also check out Pepe and Carl Craig's remix of Cesaria Evora's Angola.

    Thanks GP.

  • so deep

  • Mike Clark on the first DEMF: ...and I heard a soft constant beat in the air. As I got closer to the festival, the sound formed into Pepe Bradock's "Deep Burnt." ... As I was going through the tunnel to Hart Plaza someone writing about the festival walked up to me and asked, "How did I feel about it?" While trying to hold back the tears, I said, "Listen! Can you hear it? This is one of my favorite records and I heard it a mile away! In my own city! It's one of the greatest moments in my life!"

  • @explosivehotdogs I was just reading that, too. The quotes in RA's writeup gave me chills so many times. As I deliberated whether or not to attend Movement this year, reading all that sealed the deal. This music means something. It means a lot. I can't begin to convey how this music and parties in Detroit affected me. This year I'm making my longest pilgrimage yet--from Los Angeles back to the birthplace of the greatest music form of my generation.

  • @TheLastYogurt I really hear what you're saying. I moved away from Chi-town last year, and hearing this deep track brings me right back to Chicago in the late 90s, Prescription at its peak, great warehouse parties filled with good people. This music will only grow in significance.

  • Comment removed

  • @explosivehotdogs that wasnt hype either, hes a good friend of mine and i can tell you if Mike Said that , then it went exactly like that. Plus I know him to go deep with this track . Hope you travel to Detroit continually to enjoy the DEMF.
