  • could you use plastic for the capacitor??

  • the sparks in the capacitor is the electricity moving between the plates

    pretty cool

  • @SuperBrownie66 There should not be sparks inside of the capacitor. If there is, you've either built it wrong, or are using too much voltage.

  • Everything was cool except the kids in the background crying. Terrible. The demonstration kicked ass

  • Is that safe?!

  • @sushiboyjunya yes and no m8 safe up to a pont but can ark out at u if not done right i just put mine in box that if exsplodes or arks out i dont get hit

  • very good capasitor and i think it called laiden bottle

  • 2:09 HOLY SHIT THATS COOL

  • Holy crap

  • dare you to touch it

  • Comment removed

  • @ruthlessone3k What does that even mean? i live in a trailer? thanks for your concern, wish i could have amused you with some info, but either way, thanks for the comment

  • Cool

  • dang hill billies

  • hola gente me gusta mucho el experimento pero es que nito uno =0 pero no se como ensamblarlo ni cual es el presupuesto necesario para hacerlo pliss alguno me podria dar su msn y explicarme o algo asi es que soy muy malo en eso

  • Did you cry when you said series at 1:03

  • @webmastertool just a hick, probably stepped on something, sounded like i was in pain.

  • there should not be any air in the water compassitor to prevent arching like that you just experienced

  • @bluedogjpa what caused the arking was the wayit was hooked up, when you hook it up in series the cap arks, parelell and its just fine with the bottle half full, thanks for the comment, and i know it will change the capacitor capacity with the amount of water in the jar.

  • @crob227 thanks nice to know as i try to build it, i was also wondering if you know how i could power a tesla coil with a battery?

  • @bluedogjpa this is my thought, get a cordless drill trigger and use the trigger to pulse the 12volt battery into a cap, the drill trigger will allow you to make the 12 volts turn into up to whatever the cap is rated,,.,...., once you have that, just wind you coils and make another pulsing circuit with a motor like a rotary spark gap to pulse the energy out of the capacitor to the primaryof the tesla coil, i have never built this but i know it will work for beginners, just to get the theory.

  • @crob227 This wouldn't work at all. You need a high voltage transformer (like a car ignition coil) with a pulsed 12 volt input and get a high voltage output. Then you'd have to wire up the spark gap and high voltage capacitor to the output of the ignition coil. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to get the oscillations that a Tesla coil NEEDS in order to operate. Your idea has nothing to do with the actual theory of the Tesla coil. You really need to do more research about how a Tesla coil works.

  • @derstrom8 thanks for the comment but im not sure of the idea your talking about, this capacitor and Neon Sign Transformer, do fine to make a tesla coil.

  • @crob227 Sorry, crob227--I accidentally replied to the wrong person :o That comment was intended for bluedogjpa with the whole drill trigger and capacitor idea. You did fine, though. Nice work--Perhaps a couple more capacitors will give you longer arcs, though ;) Anyway, Well done!

  • gotta love that classic electric sound

  • i want to touch the pretty sparks! :D

  • i couldnt get the arc to climb up...it just sat down low and cooked my coat hanger...but i hooked up a cap in parallel to it...it just made it real loud...couldnt tell much of a difference...i dunno though

  • touch it that would be awesome i know it would probably kill you but it would be cool

  • das kool ima do this

  • interesting its similar to my hydrogen generator im definitely dona try this.

  • No idea what the hell was going on here

  • cool:)

    but Telsa is Tesla :P

  • Quick question about NST's:

All transformers have three wires coming out the secondary, right? The AC wires and ground? So on a NST, I need to connect the ground wire to.... what? Is ground just something with zero volts? Do i shove it in the ground? Please help.

  • the center wire is called a senter tap. basically it divides the ouside wires voltage in half. so say you have a 10kv NST from eather outside to the center you will have 5kv and from outside to outside you will have 10kv.

  • The ground is the circular part of the outlet, and it is connected to the case of the NST

  • good stuff man !!! but you should be using a safety gap with your NST if you dont want to lose it .......are you using line filters?????.check out my tesla coils on my channel....R66DTelsa

  • Bravo

  • awsome vid bro very informitive

why the hell is the jacob doing that

thats bad as bro could you draw up a scematic of the multie water cap i know what you mean by parallel but its hard to see what you did ,,i cant beleave how hot that spark is ,could maybe be able to plasma cut with a power source like that

    not shure though

  • the jaccobs ladder does that cause the beer bootle capacitors store a charge, so instead of a continous ark from the nst, it builds a charge to clear the gap.

  • awesome-cant wait to see the tuning .....

  • Wow! You got my attention! Can't wait to see the tesla coil.Your videos are awsome!

  • Thanks, i hope for people to learn a little from each of my videos

  • cool jar caps idea. So simple
