Notice how you can walk through your allies, but not through enemies such as enemy Spys? It's the same thing.

If an enemy spy takes the teleporter, and your on it the exit, he'll appear inside you and instantly kill you. If it's an ally, it'll just clip through you.

Or if you're standing on an enemy teleporter exit although that's not a wise choice.

I actually use the airblast to extinguish teammates whenever I can now. I didn't realize it at the time that doing that was possible.
