You can use it to sell to make money to hod he is up in the lumber mill chopping large logs he will give u about 200-500 gold if you chop around 100 or 97 peaces

you sell the firewood and 1 is worth 5 gold.

You can sell firewood to hod in riverwood, 1000 firewood= 5000 gold, so on and so forth

to clear up any confusion on what wood was for in skyrim, its simple. Much like smithing there was also going to be fletching under the smithing category. You would use the cutting wood feature to then use the wood and ingots to make arrows (fletching) this was then taken out of the game for fear of people having insane amounts of arrows. Hope this helped, and if you don't believe me then look up mods for skyrim on the computer, some one found the file for fletching and made it for download :D

@Underthecokesign I recall using chopped firewood for a quest. That was the only time I've ever seen it used. It's kinda strange, but maybe I haven't found the firewood's higher calling. Maybe it's used for the morning. HAHAHAHA.

@krazzy firewood is good for making gold aswell just leave your guy there for like 1 hour or something (until your almost overencumbered) and if ur in riverwood talk to Hod and tell him you have fire wood and then he gives you money i've done it
