Ever wonder why the head of the Sphinx is so much smaller and out of proportion to the rest of the Sphinx's body? There's a theory that says that the sculpture originally had a lion's head on it and the Egyptians re-carved it with a pharaoh's head on it. The extreme weathering of the body bears this out, making the Sphinx not 5,000 years old if it was constructed by the ancient Egyptians, but rather 10,500 years old!

Yeah, right. Everything that bucks the "official story" is a "conspiracy theory", eh? You know, at one time it was the official story that the Sun went around the Earth. It was a "conspiracy theory" that the Earth went around the Sun. How crazy is that? I mean we clear see that the Sun is moving in the sky and the Earth is clearly motionless. Take your head out of the sand and look around a bit more than you obviously do.

Scientists now know that its about 12,500 yrs old according 2 the physical wear of the rocks themselves from 1000s of yrs of heavy rainfall weathering. (Studies by John Anthony West & Prof Robert Shock, Boston University) For last few 1000s yrs, Egypt has been DRY, so how did rocks become SO heavily weathered by RAIN WATER not wind erosion? If U go back to 10,500 BC U have your answers.

I am afraid I know nothing of the Sphinx, nor archaeology, nor rock architecture - I'm a propulsions engineer - so I am at a loss for an explanation for anything.

Another theory says that, they know it was carved 5,000 years ago from rock that had been buried in the sand and already had a lion-like form. It will be interesting to see what Nova has to say about it. I, too, will be watching.
