The Catholic Church is not against sex education and family planning per se. She is against the immoral means or methods by which they are being implemented. And the end does not justify the means. Any family planning scheme that is premised on materialism and relativism is anti-God and anti-life. The prevention of the fertilization of the egg cell or implantation of the fertilized egg cell through human intervention is a sin because it frustrates the will of God to create human life.
mcbun, I'm sorry for your situation if you reallly want kids. But there's a reason for everything. I don't know your situation but there must be a reason for you & spouse not being able to conceive. I'm with the alpha crow. You are an ignorant person. Tubal ligation is not 100% effective. It's closer to 99% for the first year. That means one in a hundred women are likely to get pregnant in the year following a tubal ligation, since that's generally the way they discover the procedure FAILED. You thinking a sample of three is sufficient for your claim is laughable.
Hammer, I don't know where you and alpha got just 3. I wasn't just talking about me and the other 2 I know. I is a fact, Tubes CUT and not just TIED, there is know way of getting pregnant. Look it up.
I guess if you count yourself, you really gave four cases, but the point is, you weren't using statistics in your example, which requires a much bigger sample. I did look it up, and 1 out of 100 tubal ligations (which usually involves tubes being "cut") FAIL in the first year, and that percentage goes up later, because sometimes the tubes manage to grow back together. If they told you it was 100%, they lied.
Hammer, I will not argue with you. 4 cases,my ass. There are millions of women that choose CUT, not TIED. Esspecially if they choose to never change their mind on having children. Alphacrow have had this arguement and as far as I am concerned its over on that subject.

Almost 90% of Catholics use artificial birth control/contraception, and I think there's a good reason why - it makes sense. Being Catholic isn't just blindly following a teaching invented by man. Besides, the church has changed rules in the past and I see the condom ban disappearing in time. Condoms could save millions of lives from HiV, see Africa.
How you can falsely accuse anyone of "blindly following" catholic teaching is beyond me. I assert that you are ignorant of catholic teaching because it is anything but blind. It is full of scientific fact and solid reasoning. You can't read "Love and Responsibility" "Humanae Vitae"
Janet Smith
Christopher West
MaryBeth Bonachi
And tell me that those aren't scientific treatments of the issue at hand.
I'm well aware and have read those, but they were written by people, not Jesus. That's a fact. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just challenging what you believe. I believe the church is wrong, but I'm not saying they are wrong.
"The church changed it's definition of sex from "being ONLY for procreation" to "unity with spouse and procreation."
You have not cited a source because there is none. The Church has always taught that sex is a UNITIVE act along with being a procreative act and that coincides with biology. A woman is infertile for the majority of her cycle.
Please cite a source for your assertion or recant what you said.
I can't find the source, but I'm still looking for it. I should have bookmarked it. I think that the source talked more about how many in the church believed that sex was only for procreation (some still do believe this) but not ALL of the Catholic church, so I may have been partly wrong on this.
No offense was taken. I'm not here to say your are wrong, the thing that disturbed me was the video saying NFP was 99% accurate, which I don't believe to be true.
But here's the thing. If you have sex with a woman at a time when she is not fertile then she will not get pregnant 100% of the time. There is no physical egg to be fertilized.
This fact is not true for all forms of contraception. Condoms fail, pills fail, even having your tubes tied fails look at the statistics. EVEN VASECTOMY! You see NATURE finds a way to live and tries to fix what man brakes. Contraceptives fail and a woman's fertility SUCCEEDS in the end. That's Nature.
I agree with that. Nature can and does often find a way. Pregnancy is not something that is ever going to be 100% possible to avoid (given the female can conceive). But what I think NFP doesn't mention enough is the possibility of the ovulation varying, and the possibility of double ovulation which does happen often. Sometimes body temperate can rise from other causes too, which is why most medical reports that I've read say NFP is about 75% effective.
You're obviously have strong moral beliefs, but we just disagree on how we see things. My future wife and I are going to use NFP and condoms when the times comes. Of course we are open to life, but we don't want to have more than 2 or 3 kids.
Well that's between you and God but His church explicitly teaches us in very certain and clear pedagogy that the use of condoms is antithetical to the marital act.
Speaking as an NFP practicing catholic. Having less sex makes those times more enjoyable when we do.
Most nights when we are not having sex are full of laughter and waking up our baby with the laughter.
I'm not disagreeing with many of your opinions. I think there are many benefits to NFP, and I think sex is something that shouldn't be done everyday or all time time. That's why I am going to use NFP, of course with addition of something you don't agree on, but I just want you to know I think NFP has many good things about it that I feel are healthy spiritually and physically.
Meaning no disrepect to you Brittian and I commend you for acknowledging the benefits of NFP but it is the condom issue that I am concerned with. By using a barrier method of birth control an expectant mother is more than twice at risk for contracting preeclampsia which is a condition of high blood pressure and is the third leading cause of death in child birth and can lead to a premature birth of the baby.
NFP actually never "fails". NFP is simply a study of a woman's biology. If a person is looking to contracept then they have no business using NFP they should see a shrink because NFP is not a contraceptive. It is a biological study. It promotes competent awareness of a woman's fertility cycle. Contraceptives promote ignorance and lead people to believe things like "I got pregnant on accident". No you didn't! you had sex didn't you? It's not an accident that your body worked properly.
When you read those reports, bear in mind that the mentality of our society towards sex is that you should not have to exercise any self control.
If I only have sex with my wife once a month at the proper time then she will never get pregnant. How many times per month can a couple have sex? Well every day if they want but if they want to engage in sex and not produce a child then they have to accept the fact that they will be having less sex.
That is the real drive behind the people who say that NFP is only 75% effective. They believe that sex should be had on demand, and in a sense it should, but only for people who are willing to have children.
Spacing out children means having less sex. That's the thing that our pagan world can't accept and so they spread 75% numbers.
You blindly follow "condoms=safe sex" and deny the fact that condoms have replaced HIV with several other STDs.
The fact is that HIV came from sexual promiscuity. The ONLY solution for sexual promiscuity is abstinence until marriage. Sex is for 2 virgins. When you go against that you have AIDS and the spread of aids. The only solution now is for the population to promote marital sex between 2 virgins and hope that hospitals can find a cure for the infected.
I'm a big supporter of abstinence, I wish everyone would do it, but the reality is, we are not perfect beings, and there's always going to be mistakes made.
I am very glad that you are an abstinence supporter but you are shooting yourself in the foot if you also promote the use of condoms. Sex outside of marriage is always a mistake. Yes, it happens but condoms promotes it happening more often which ONLY makes the problem get bigger.
You can't fight STDs by developing ways for people to have more sex by unnatural means.
all forms of contraception promote more unnatural sex.
You are also wrong if you teach that NFP is just like contraception.
NFP is for married people who are open to the possibility of having a baby.
Contraception promotes sex any time any where with who ever how ever as many times as you want. Contraception removes LIFE from the act. Contra-Ception.
When you say "contraception and NFP have the same intention behind them" you are wrong.
A couple practicing NFP knows the fertility cycle of the woman. Knowing this cycle makes the couple VERY EDUCATED in knowing when to have sex in order to have a child. The couple employs NFP to have children. A couple never employs contraceptives in order to have children because contraceptives area only designed to CONTRACEPT. Contraception is man trying to stop life. Stop Nature.
The reality is that the pagan world tries to make the Catholic Church look like an ignorant, evil, oppressive, out of touch, institution. When in fact the Church has cut at the very root of the problem of STDs. STDs are the result of people having sex with many people.
I encourage you to live according to nature and not according to man made, problem starting, problem perpetuating, artificial, pseudo-cures. They are not cures, they perpetuate the problem. The Church has been 100% correct.
I apologize if I have been abrasive in our dialogue. It is not my intention to offend but it is my intention to rebuke you for your errors. All of us are wrong about things in our life but the truth never changes. If I am wrong about something then a person who has the truth should be rebuking me. If I am wrong then I will have no good defense. There is no good defense of contraception as I hope you have seen today, there is only brainwashing and faulty logic, and denial of the facts.
I disagree. Condoms and NFP both have the same intention behind them - to postpone or avoid pregnancy. I don't believe it's morally wrong just because some men in the church decided that. Condoms are a blessing from God, yes they aren't 100%, but they DO help, AND they do save lives. Question, if your son or daughter was about to have sex with someone with HIV, would you rather them "have no barriors" or use something that has a great chance of saving their life?
If my son or daughter were sexually active outside of marriage they would know the facts of their actions.
Condoms don't protect against HPV and condoms have helped to spread HPV because teens have been taught that condoms=safe sex. This is an error, in fact condoms promote teen sexual activity, they are not a help.
I didn't say outside of marriage, I meant as a teenager or young adult. People make mistakes, and yes, condoms are misused often, but the do give us another chance should we make a mistake, which by statistics, most young people do have sex before they are married. I say protect them.
STDs are only caused by having sex. Employing strategies to fight STDs by using condoms has proven to be counter productive as the rise of STDs has grown proportionally to the dissemination of condoms.
You can't teach that condoms=safe sex and not be promoting promiscuity.
Again, we see things differently. Condoms are misused, but that doesn't mean the condoms are to blame. That's like blaming tylenol for someone overdosing on it. Without condoms, some of us wouldn't be able to have sex (Magic Johnson for example). Should he not be able to be close to his wife because he has HIV?
HIV is nature's way of telling mankind that sex outside of marriage is a bad thing.
If God and religion didn't exist you can still only come to the conclusion that promiscuous sex produces diseases. That's a logical fact. Did Magic Johnson, magically contract HIV? He contracted it from being selfish with sex. These facts are so clear that a person never needs to bring up God in order to point out these sexual facts. It is no coincidence though that nature follows what God's Church teaches though
I'm a catholic and this method is NOT 99% effective. Maaaybe 90% when done right, but that means that means a lot of things must go completely right. Statistics show about 25% of people using NFP for one year got pregnant. NFP is not bad, but just know that it's called "family planning" for a reason, it's not very effective. Using NFP with condoms would be very effective.
Condoms are not our friends. A condom is a barrier between 2 lovers. Condoms say, "I don't love the fact that you have fertility".
For 2 people to TRULY love each other to the fullest they need to accept all dimensions of the other person. Fertility is a natural dimension of a human person. Wearing a condom in an attempt to have an orgasm while blocking the natural effects of having an orgasm is a selfish act. Not having sex when a woman is fertile is simply not having sex.
Because of this, condoms are incompatible with love. When you love someone else, you want ALL of the goodness of that other person. Fertility is good and natural. Wearing a condom implies that fertility is not good. If a couple believes that it is beneficial for the family to try and avoid pregnancy, then the RESPONSIBLE act is to not have sex when a woman can get pregnant. Yes this is a teaching that is counter to the secular message on TV but it is the proper teaching.
Catholics do not fit in to a pagan society. Our society teaches "sex on demand". Catholics teach "sex in it's proper place".
A woman's body is in an infertile state for the majority of the time during her cycle. Engaging in sex with your spouse at that time in order to build a deeper relationship is good and ordered. It is not contracepting.
Employing condoms as a way of having an orgasm and muting the effects is a selfish act. You want the orgasm and not the person.
Marriage is a place for two people who understand that their very lives together are for the purpose of unity and procreation, not to have a big car, swimming pool, and fabulous house, and ample vacation time.
Contraception has clearly destroyed the sexual relationship between men and women. This is evident with the growing divorce rate, growing numbers of marital infidelity, sexual promiscuity outside of marriage. Growth of STDs, teen pregnancy. People want sex instead of love.
If people are engaging in sex then they should be expecting to have children. As it is, the sexual "revolution" has changed this. Sex is a recreation first and a procreative act way way down the priority list. This is wrong and unnatural. This is the origin of abortion. If contraception should fail then abortion should be made available is U.S. law. This is wrong.
The pill makes a woman's body think it is pregnant. Chemically pregnant. This is wrong. Now estrogen has polluted our water system.
The Pill is only 99% effective if it is used perfectly too.
If you use NFP perfectly, it's 99% effective, and it has zero side effects. If people don't follow the signs of fertility they can get pregnant, but you can't blame that on NFP, that's what's known as "operator error." A person who forgets to take a pill, or doesn't take it at the same time every day also has a greatly increased risk of getting pregnant.
I don't pay attention to the pill or NFP, I didn't need too. My way worked the best, here it is, I am 49 now and no children. Thank God. God did another great thing for me. I went thru menopause at 39 and don't have to deal with the female shit every month either. Now God was cooking with gas then. LOL
God may have behind your premature menopause, but I wouldn't be too thrilled about that, myself. The low levels of estrogen associated with menopause increase a woman's risk for osteoporosis, colon and ovarian cancer, periodontal (gum) disease and tooth loss, and cataract formation.
Hammer, For my job, I have to have a complete exam once a year. And besides my mother having cancer 3x and dying, I even throw in extra then required at these exams. I am healthy as a lark. I am retiring in may and I will still go to have exam once a year. My teeth are beautifull thanks to brushing and getting them cleaned every 6 months. But thank you for your concern. My GYN doc told me I am fit as a fiddle. I was shocked to about early menopause. Gyn said I am fine.
Sorry to hear about your mother, because that probably doesn't help your chances with respect to the elevated cancer risk. I hope you stay healthy, but to be on the safe side, be sure to keep getting those checkups (and since this is the Internet, I assure you, I'm not being snarky about that).
I know what you mean by the exams being done. You know what I don't understand and probably won't ever? I read in some books and mags, The older you get, the less you need to see the GYN and other kinds of exams and things. I think you would at least need exams like once a year the older you get. Well i guess it wouldn't matter anyway, People just can't afford to go. I am lucky, my husband and me have health insurance. We Paid up the ass for his, he retired. Another story there. insurance, cry.
Hammer, I am not trying to be a smartass, I take very good care of myself. Thanks for the information. When my GYN told me I was going thru meno, I couldn't believe it either. I asked others and they say woman are getting menopause early now more than ever. Now don't ask me why, I did not get into details with the doc. I'm lucky after freezing in exam room waiting for 15 to 20 minutes, If I can see and talk with him for 15 min during exam. I lucky if it is 15 min. he in room for.
The Catholic Church is not against sex education and family planning per se. She is against the immoral means or methods by which they are being implemented. And the end does not justify the means. Christopher West
MaryBeth Bonachi
And tell me that those aren't scientific treatments of the issue at hand.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I'm well aware and have read those, but they were written by people, not Jesus. That's a fact. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just challenging what you believe. I believe the church is wrong, but I'm not saying they are wrong.
Brittian86 3 years ago
Well I am saying that you are wrong when you say
"The church changed it's definition of sex from "being ONLY for procreation" to "unity with spouse and procreation."
You have not cited a source because there is none. The Church has always taught that sex is a UNITIVE act along with being a procreative act and that coincides with biology. A woman is infertile for the majority of her cycle.
Please cite a source for your assertion or recant what you said.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I can't find the source, but I'm still looking for it. I should have bookmarked it. I think that the source talked more about how many in the church believed that sex was only for procreation (some still do believe this) but not ALL of the Catholic church, so I may have been partly wrong on this.
No offense was taken. I'm not here to say your are wrong, the thing that disturbed me was the video saying NFP was 99% accurate, which I don't believe to be true.
Brittian86 3 years ago
But here's the thing. If you have sex with a woman at a time when she is not fertile then she will not get pregnant 100% of the time. There is no physical egg to be fertilized.
This fact is not true for all forms of contraception. Condoms fail, pills fail, even having your tubes tied fails look at the statistics. EVEN VASECTOMY! You see NATURE finds a way to live and tries to fix what man brakes. Contraceptives fail and a woman's fertility SUCCEEDS in the end. That's Nature.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I agree with that. Nature can and does often find a way. Pregnancy is not something that is ever going to be 100% possible to avoid (given the female can conceive). But what I think NFP doesn't mention enough is the possibility of the ovulation varying, and the possibility of double ovulation which does happen often. Sometimes body temperate can rise from other causes too, which is why most medical reports that I've read say NFP is about 75% effective.
Brittian86 3 years ago
You're obviously have strong moral beliefs, but we just disagree on how we see things. My future wife and I are going to use NFP and condoms when the times comes. Of course we are open to life, but we don't want to have more than 2 or 3 kids.
Brittian86 3 years ago
excuse my typos and grammar mistakes. I type too fast sometimes.
Brittian86 3 years ago
Well that's between you and God but His church explicitly teaches us in very certain and clear pedagogy that the use of condoms is antithetical to the marital act.
Speaking as an NFP practicing catholic. Having less sex makes those times more enjoyable when we do.
Most nights when we are not having sex are full of laughter and waking up our baby with the laughter.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I'm not disagreeing with many of your opinions. I think there are many benefits to NFP, and I think sex is something that shouldn't be done everyday or all time time. That's why I am going to use NFP, of course with addition of something you don't agree on, but I just want you to know I think NFP has many good things about it that I feel are healthy spiritually and physically.
Brittian86 3 years ago
Meaning no disrepect to you Brittian and I commend you for acknowledging the benefits of NFP but it is the condom issue that I am concerned with. By using a barrier method of birth control an expectant mother is more than twice at risk for contracting preeclampsia which is a condition of high blood pressure and is the third leading cause of death in child birth and can lead to a premature birth of the baby.
loverofeucharist 2 years ago
NFP actually never "fails". NFP is simply a study of a woman's biology. If a person is looking to contracept then they have no business using NFP they should see a shrink because NFP is not a contraceptive. It is a biological study. It promotes competent awareness of a woman's fertility cycle. Contraceptives promote ignorance and lead people to believe things like "I got pregnant on accident". No you didn't! you had sex didn't you? It's not an accident that your body worked properly.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
"effective"
When you read those reports, bear in mind that the mentality of our society towards sex is that you should not have to exercise any self control.
If I only have sex with my wife once a month at the proper time then she will never get pregnant. How many times per month can a couple have sex? Well every day if they want but if they want to engage in sex and not produce a child then they have to accept the fact that they will be having less sex.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
That is the real drive behind the people who say that NFP is only 75% effective. They believe that sex should be had on demand, and in a sense it should, but only for people who are willing to have children.
Spacing out children means having less sex. That's the thing that our pagan world can't accept and so they spread 75% numbers.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
You blindly follow "condoms=safe sex" and deny the fact that condoms have replaced HIV with several other STDs.
The fact is that HIV came from sexual promiscuity. The ONLY solution for sexual promiscuity is abstinence until marriage. Sex is for 2 virgins. When you go against that you have AIDS and the spread of aids. The only solution now is for the population to promote marital sex between 2 virgins and hope that hospitals can find a cure for the infected.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I'm a big supporter of abstinence, I wish everyone would do it, but the reality is, we are not perfect beings, and there's always going to be mistakes made.
Brittian86 3 years ago
I am very glad that you are an abstinence supporter but you are shooting yourself in the foot if you also promote the use of condoms. Sex outside of marriage is always a mistake. Yes, it happens but condoms promotes it happening more often which ONLY makes the problem get bigger.
You can't fight STDs by developing ways for people to have more sex by unnatural means.
all forms of contraception promote more unnatural sex.
NFP does not promote more sex.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
You are also wrong if you teach that NFP is just like contraception.
NFP is for married people who are open to the possibility of having a baby.
Contraception promotes sex any time any where with who ever how ever as many times as you want. Contraception removes LIFE from the act. Contra-Ception.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
When you say "contraception and NFP have the same intention behind them" you are wrong.
A couple practicing NFP knows the fertility cycle of the woman. Knowing this cycle makes the couple VERY EDUCATED in knowing when to have sex in order to have a child. The couple employs NFP to have children. A couple never employs contraceptives in order to have children because contraceptives area only designed to CONTRACEPT. Contraception is man trying to stop life. Stop Nature.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
The reality is that the pagan world tries to make the Catholic Church look like an ignorant, evil, oppressive, out of touch, institution. When in fact the Church has cut at the very root of the problem of STDs. STDs are the result of people having sex with many people.
I encourage you to live according to nature and not according to man made, problem starting, problem perpetuating, artificial, pseudo-cures. They are not cures, they perpetuate the problem. The Church has been 100% correct.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I apologize if I have been abrasive in our dialogue. It is not my intention to offend but it is my intention to rebuke you for your errors. All of us are wrong about things in our life but the truth never changes. If I am wrong about something then a person who has the truth should be rebuking me. If I am wrong then I will have no good defense. There is no good defense of contraception as I hope you have seen today, there is only brainwashing and faulty logic, and denial of the facts.
God Bless
thealphacrow 3 years ago
Brittian86 3 years ago
you disagree erroneously. Condoms permit a couple to engage in an act of sex. NFP requires self control and not having sex.
Having sex
Not having sex
They are polar opposites.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
If my son or daughter were sexually active outside of marriage they would know the facts of their actions.
Condoms don't protect against HPV and condoms have helped to spread HPV because teens have been taught that condoms=safe sex. This is an error, in fact condoms promote teen sexual activity, they are not a help.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I didn't say outside of marriage, I meant as a teenager or young adult. People make mistakes, and yes, condoms are misused often, but the do give us another chance should we make a mistake, which by statistics, most young people do have sex before they are married. I say protect them.
Brittian86 3 years ago
STDs are only caused by having sex. Employing strategies to fight STDs by using condoms has proven to be counter productive as the rise of STDs has grown proportionally to the dissemination of condoms.
You can't teach that condoms=safe sex and not be promoting promiscuity.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
Again, we see things differently. Condoms are misused, but that doesn't mean the condoms are to blame. That's like blaming tylenol for someone overdosing on it. Without condoms, some of us wouldn't be able to have sex (Magic Johnson for example). Should he not be able to be close to his wife because he has HIV?
Brittian86 3 years ago
HIV is nature's way of telling mankind that sex outside of marriage is a bad thing.
If God and religion didn't exist you can still only come to the conclusion that promiscuous sex produces diseases. That's a logical fact. Did Magic Johnson, magically contract HIV? He contracted it from being selfish with sex. These facts are so clear that a person never needs to bring up God in order to point out these sexual facts. It is no coincidence though that nature follows what God's Church teaches though
thealphacrow 3 years ago
I'm a catholic and this method is NOT 99% effective. Maaaybe 90% when done right, but that means that means a lot of things must go completely right. Statistics show about 25% of people using NFP for one year got pregnant. NFP is not bad, but just know that it's called "family planning" for a reason, it's not very effective. Using NFP with condoms would be very effective.
Brittian86 3 years ago
Condoms are not our friends. A condom is a barrier between 2 lovers. Condoms say, "I don't love the fact that you have fertility".
For 2 people to TRULY love each other to the fullest they need to accept all dimensions of the other person. Fertility is a natural dimension of a human person. Wearing a condom in an attempt to have an orgasm while blocking the natural effects of having an orgasm is a selfish act. Not having sex when a woman is fertile is simply not having sex.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
Because of this, condoms are incompatible with love. When you love someone else, you want ALL of the goodness of that other person. Fertility is good and natural. Wearing a condom implies that fertility is not good. If a couple believes that it is beneficial for the family to try and avoid pregnancy, then the RESPONSIBLE act is to not have sex when a woman can get pregnant. Yes this is a teaching that is counter to the secular message on TV but it is the proper teaching.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
Catholics do not fit in to a pagan society. Our society teaches "sex on demand". Catholics teach "sex in it's proper place".
A woman's body is in an infertile state for the majority of the time during her cycle. Engaging in sex with your spouse at that time in order to build a deeper relationship is good and ordered. It is not contracepting.
Employing condoms as a way of having an orgasm and muting the effects is a selfish act. You want the orgasm and not the person.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
Marriage is a place for two people who understand that their very lives together are for the purpose of unity and procreation, not to have a big car, swimming pool, and fabulous house, and ample vacation time.
Contraception has clearly destroyed the sexual relationship between men and women. This is evident with the growing divorce rate, growing numbers of marital infidelity, sexual promiscuity outside of marriage. Growth of STDs, teen pregnancy. People want sex instead of love.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
If people are engaging in sex then they should be expecting to have children. As it is, the sexual "revolution" has changed this. Sex is a recreation first and a procreative act way way down the priority list. This is wrong and unnatural. This is the origin of abortion. If contraception should fail then abortion should be made available is U.S. law. This is wrong.
The pill makes a woman's body think it is pregnant. Chemically pregnant. This is wrong. Now estrogen has polluted our water system.
thealphacrow 3 years ago
The Pill is only 99% effective if it is used perfectly too.
If you use NFP perfectly, it's 99% effective, and it has zero side effects. If people don't follow the signs of fertility they can get pregnant, but you can't blame that on NFP, that's what's known as "operator error." A person who forgets to take a pill, or doesn't take it at the same time every day also has a greatly increased risk of getting pregnant.
HammerofHeretics 2 years ago 2
I don't pay attention to the pill or NFP, I didn't need too. My way worked the best, here it is, I am 49 now and no children. Thank God. God did another great thing for me. I went thru menopause at 39 and don't have to deal with the female shit every month either. Now God was cooking with gas then. LOL
3slimdog 2 years ago

3slimdog 2 years ago
Sorry to hear about your mother, because that probably doesn't help your chances with respect to the elevated cancer risk. I hope you stay healthy, but to be on the safe side, be sure to keep getting those checkups (and since this is the Internet, I assure you, I'm not being snarky about that).
HammerofHeretics 2 years ago
I know what you mean by the exams being done. You know what I don't understand and probably won't ever? I read in some books and mags, The older you get, the less you need to see the GYN and other kinds of exams and things. I think you would at least need exams like once a year the older you get. Well i guess it wouldn't matter anyway, People just can't afford to go. I am lucky, my husband and me have health insurance. We Paid up the ass for his, he retired. Another story there. insurance, cry.
3slimdog 2 years ago
Hammer, I am not trying to be a smartass, I take very good care of myself. Thanks for the information. When my GYN told me I was going thru meno, I couldn't believe it either. I asked others and they say woman are getting menopause early now more than ever. Now don't ask me why, I did not get into details with the doc. I'm lucky after freezing in exam room waiting for 15 to 20 minutes, If I can see and talk with him for 15 min during exam. I lucky if it is 15 min. he in room for.
