Amazing. These guys battled for long periods of time. Unlike the watered down version of todays wrestling. I`ll say this much for bruno. He truly was a mat genius and knew his way around the weight room as well.
@TheForgottenFlesh Bottom line is there is no "greatest of all time" it's impossible to determine that. Bruno holds the title for 12 years....but it's all scripted and the guy wasn't a great wrestler. Lou Thesz wrestles from the 1920s to the 1990s. That's an incredible feat (hence why I think he's the greatest) but Rikidozan also helped a whole country from economical decline. There is no greatest of all time as the basis for the argument can be varied.
@TheForgottenFlesh - Bruno's matches were not scripted. Many times the heels tried to really beat him. Bruno was stronger than any wrestler in history, if he fought Hulk Hogan in his prime he would have mopped the floor with him.
@TheForgottenFlesh It's mostly based on win-loss records, quality of opposition,titles\streaks won, technical ability and impact on the industry.Following that criteria,Bruno wins hands down in all categories except technical ability, which should probably go to someone like Bret Hart,Dean Malenko or Mitsuharu Misawa.

If that little fat Jap grabbed my hand and put it down, he'd go down with it. You have to laugh, Japan has to win and they make it looking fairly stupid.
You have to laugh. It was Japan and they have to win, it's their country. I still laugh at some of their wrestling shows. Bruno was well paid for the show.
Did you people see the same mattch I just saw? Bruno wasn't pinned. They were both outside the ring and somehow Baba won. Where do you see Bruno getting pinned?
Forget the chop; there's a tag match on youtube of Baba & Inoki vs. Kiniski and Johhny Valentine.....Baba pins Valentine to win the match with a dropkick that barely touches him.
Legends going at it,at its best

Awesome. Classic match. Though I love both Bruno and Baba, the match actually belonged to Bruno. RIP, Giant Baba. Long Live Bruno Sammartino.

Bruno should have one that. In my view he practically owned Baba in that classic match.

Best Baba match I have ever seen and the only time he didn't look like a bar of soap with chicken bones stuck in it.
I like how Bruno didn't sell the first super chop

PaulDA2000 4 years ago
Oh, maybe it was in the beggnning where Bruno was pinned? I actually missed the first part of the match and only saw the end.
PaulDA2000 4 years ago
No, I didn't see one either.

Bruno's in ring ability makes Hulk Hogan look like Shawn Michaels!

In this match--agreed!! Wow! I guess it was lie that Bruno was pinned only one time from '63 to '71 in an individual match.

That's pretty weak having The Living Legend losing a pinfall with a chop to the head.

How dare you diss the dreaded Baba Chop? :)

Baba practically owned Japanese wrestling. So Bruno probabably aggreed and sold out to the contract stipulation.
