how can they make anything faster than that; how can the heavy hydroptere be faster? The counterwieght ratio to the weight of the craft CANNOT be any more than something like this.

the ratio between sail size and drag is better thanks to the foils for the hydroptere.

Thanks to the foils hydroptere can sail in rather choppy conditions while windsurf need really flat water.

The drag in windsurf is pretty poor, but the windsurfer has no mechanical means to handle the sail...

In another hand, excepting the masters of speed there are not a lot of attemps to break the record in windsurf... neither brains to enhance the sailing conditions to break records.

Merci beaucoup! je n'avais pas fais attention au générique, je mettais la vidéo en boucle en fond juste pour la musique xD et quand c'était finit je remettais xD. hèè mais aussi la barre des 50 noeuds n'a pas été franchit cette année par AA ? des potes de planche m'ont dit ça... maintenant si c'est vrai.... ça reste à voir XD

non, en planche on n'a pas encore passé les 50 nœuds (du moins sur 500 m). Albeau se "traîne" encore à 49.09 :)

i don't exactly know about the boards used on this specific day, but for his 49.09 knots run (see my other video footage in response), Antoine Albeau used a prototype shaped by C. Fiorentini which was 36 cm wide, and i guess around 230cm long.

Fiorentini has then shaped the starboard speed series.
