Maybe, lose the capo and de-tune a half step or so, then try from there singing in a higher octave. I believe the song is originally performed in a half step down tuning, but I could be off.

I love the arrangement you used here, your guitar work is impressive. I like hearing what people can do with other artists songs. I do agree about your register, though. You are just too low during the verses, it doesn't do you voice justice. You do, however, really seem to get comfortable during the chorus, and you start to get that stronger, more powerful sound/tone. I'd love to hear you redo this again with the same arrangement, only bump up the key a bit to bring you more into character
