That is pretty cool. I think the ball bearings can cause it to be off, especially over time. The variable at which it strikes and makes the next minute come up could cause fluctuation.

I had one of these way back when. I couldn't get it to keep accurate time for very long. It would run 15 or 20 mins okay and then lose time when dominoes would pop up and then fall down. I leveled the table to perfection, leveled the clock as much as possible, shaved the dominoes, etc. It just wouldn't keep accurate time. I left it in spare bedroom where it gathered dust for years. Taking it apart to give it a good cleaning was too daunting, so I got a buck or two for it at a yard sale.
