why ?

simple. Look at their European Successes during their domestic domination.

Even United fans admit - they failed to conquer Europe during their domestic domination. to deny this would be foolish.

The Pool proved to the best team in Europe during their helm, United proved to be the best team in the land for much of their dominance except for 1999 and 2008.

@ lapiedsmaour09. liverpool won the euorpean cup when you only had to play 3or 4 games to get to the final. and when they did win the champions league, they finished 5th. you got to play 13 games today, not ot mention for a while they had a 2nd group stage. its harder, why do u think no team has won back2back ch'leagues. plus the utd of 90's/00's have now won a hatrick of titles TWICE, liverpool 70'/80's never did. a 4th in a row is on its way to. liverpools 19th title aint comin any time soon.

@ant8tfive Spot On! Plus the Opposition wasn't exactly the Best at that time the early rounds were practically byes and the English League was very strong overall! Villa, Spurs, Forest, Everton and Even Ipswich won European Trophies around that Time and West Ham and Arsenal also got to Finals!
