Actually from what I've heard 3 are supposed to be the same height with 1 short dance. That's what a few ballet teachers have told me.

Even if the smaller ballerina had a hard time catching up with the other three, their performance still amazed me. The small one's faults are not really that obvious unless you'll focus on her... :)

WELL, they do not move sync., but that makes it even better for me. When i see the girls from Bolshoi from former days when CCCP still existed, all was studied a thousand times and just looked too perfect.

Didnt you watch that video many times cause of the faults from the smallest one :)

this is not the best pas de quatre i have seen. they are not in sync, the head movements are not in unision and it looks messy cos of the height difference, the shortest seems to be having trouble keeping up, adn the arms and legs in the final arabesque were all different angles. sorry to sound harsh but its my opinion. you might think differently though.

How can we even critic these people? I would probably fall over and die trying to do half of that!!! It's absolutely marvelous, a miracle that human beings have such elasticity. I've been in ballet ever since I was four, and I can tell you that it is NOT as easy as it looks.

i completely agree, but i've done this dance before and toward the end, your feet hurt so bad it's EXTREMELY difficult to even move them!

So i can understand why it might have been a little sloppy.

I really love this piece. Personally I'm not that interested in ballet as a form of dance, but the music usually OWNS in ballets. If you haven't already I would recommend that you watch the first hot you get for "romeo and juliet dance of the knights".

you have to remember that this isn't a new video it was probably taken in 60's, since at the begining of the video nureyev was seen. ballet technique has improved greatly since then, especially ladies'!
