Normally I have 0 taste for rock. Warren Zevon, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger are the exceptions. I saw Zevon twice in performance--once 5 days before this video was made, he appeared at my alma mater, Glassboro State College in New Jersey. the other show was in Phuilly, 8 years later. For my money his best album was "Excitable Boy," though "Warren Zevon," "Stand in the Fire,' and "The Envoy," i also enjoyed greatly, though the latter 2 didn't sell well.
You have to admire the cajones of someone who finds out he has terminal lung cancer and starts smoking again. R.I.P. Warren. Nobody like you to this day, and it's a complete fucking shame.
Saw him four times, at places such as The Bayou in DC, The Paradise Rock Club in Boston, and the auto show in Columbus OH... Not a club named The Auto Show, but an actual auto show!!!
Seems like some people I know! OMG! I am 40+ YO and can tell the difference between living and dying. Seems to me many kids are being weak and dying personally because we do not drive them to be themselves! BTW: I do not like this tune! I do like the party where you said 'Poor Pitiful Me"...seemed like a good tune.
i was there and so was MTV i remember them trying to move me and my friend george back we toldem we paid to be in the front and we aint move in they moved us a little not much remember the john bulishi comment i can;t spell worth a dam anyway all in all i saw warren 5 times the way my life is i can;t wait for #6
Man,thanks for all of these posts! Love Warren's music since78's "Excitable Boy". Didn't feel very well before, now.....I'm Smiling...much appreciated...R.I.P. Warren, sure miss you & your music.
Yeah.. I was at the show too. The complete concert at the Capitol Theatre consisted of 2 sets. The first set was about an hour long and included about 13 songs. 3 of the songs were not used in the video. The last 3 songs of the set were played as a medley (Charlies Medicine, Jungle Work and Play It All Night).
The 2nd set was about 70 minutes long, but only 5 of the songs were used in the video. Some of the best songs were cut, which I have as audio tracks.
I was at this show!!! Couple of months early I saw WZ at The Bottom Line....He sang Werewolves of Flatbush for me and my brothers...before the song he asked me where I was from I said Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn..Warren said "The Lord's Of Flatbush"..so his encore went over big time...I saw WZ over 35 times...I was at his last show on Letterman...

@AUCHTERCOMPANY Like most Zevon songs the request for pity is tongue in cheek I believe.

Warren Zevon is sorely missed. A musical genius. Hands down the best live show I've ever seen...and I've seen Tool and Pink Floyd in concert.

He added that for "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead", but not for every show we did that tour.

@jdookster You toured with Warren? In what capacity, may I ask?
