That's too bad, since Otis Elevator is said to be the best elevator company, but the door disease is where the nudging is activated, and the doors open/close for up to 6 times. The only remedy is to clean out the sills, change out the operator, install new sensors, and repair the controller.
I've seen a Dover and a Schindler do that. All companies have their ups and downs, but not everyone else thinks that. They just think "blame Schindler" or "blame Dover" for 1 incident, when really it happens all the time, even in the industries best!
Yes, this "Blame this on (insert name)" is total nonsense, and even with the best companies, they do have that problem, but they can be repaired easily.
Those crazy doors (a.k.a. the "door disease") is not the worst I have ever seen. Otis elevators are worse. The elevators at the MGM Grand are the worst I have seen. Three elevators in one bank with a broken door sensor. In a five day period, one elevator broke three times, half of the elevators in one bank broke at the same time. Two elevators there were re-opening (even if you pressed another floor)about six times. And the bet part is, they are OTIS LUXURY MODELS!!!
The Kone elevators on the Carnival Inspiration cruise ship also did some crazy things. Sometimes the floor buttons wouldn't activate in the car, other times both the up and down indicators would light up. One time, the left atrium elevator on the Atlantic deck wouldn't respond even though the up button on that deck was pressed. The door was open and the buttons worked, but the door never closed on the right elevator. Worse, each side runs on a different controller but serves the same floors.
Yes, it's interesting how the garage elevators are nicer than the main elevators, and it could be a worn out door operator, broken sensors, or a controller problem that's causing the door open/close movement.
I think it's because the doors close, and then reopen several times. However, I saw the dim, but cool looking lantern/floor indicators with green/red circle lenses, and the scrolling Otis-style floor indicator. And this is a nice elevator for a garage.
Yes, even if ThyssenKrupp worked on this elevator, it still looks nice and well maintained. After all, it's at a major hospital.

Beautiful elevator for a parking garage. I really like it

It might be a bad door sensor, a controller problem, or the door operator needs replacing.

What the hell is wrong with that elevator door. It close then open then close!?
That's f***ed up!

Yes, sometimes these digital controllers aren't as reliable as the older relay controllers, when it comes to such elevator functions.

Interesting, but if they replace it, they should go with a more pleasant tone.

These are nice for a garage! The door sensors are probably broken, because they keep reopening.

What amazes me is that this is nicer than the main hospital.
