  • dude i want to live in brooklyn with those black ass mutherfuckas !!

  • I feel honored to be alive during that era of hip hop. Not only alive but paying attention. I didn't absentmindedly stumble across this beautiful music 5 years after it's peak, I was right there nodding my hooded head, stomping my Timbos on top of it. Much like I've wished I could have been around to see Hendrix play live, we know we were lucky to be a part of this time. Sadly we watch rap regress to mediocre rhymes and material meaning but being there back then will ALWAYS make up for it.

  • @Specialk1719 yuck, your moms stank ass breath & pussy.

  • CHUB ROCK YOU GO HARD BROTHA A PIONEER!

  • If "Biggie" were alive today, man he would spit lyrics hotter then blue flames on this track!

  • @dafourthprimenumber Are you evening listening to this song? I doubt anything would top the contents of this masterpiece.

  • @dafourthprimenumber Biggie was alive at this time

  • @dafourthprimenumber why is it always about big spitting on something

this song is a classic anyway, biggie was good but he was not the best just one of the well known rappers

  • @kingkevboi67 true dat!

  • @dafourthprimenumber stfu jeru is untouchable

  • @dafourthprimenumber why talk about bigs on a track he has nothing to do with.. appreciate who's giving us what right here ??

  • @dafourthprimenumber Biggie is a great rapper but even if he was alive he wouldnt have been invited to spit on this track because he wasnt intelligent enough and he raps about most of the negative things that these rappers are rapping against

  • @dafourthprimenumber Whaaat? hahahaha is the fluoride in the water killing everyone's braincells? This songs is from 95, biggie died in 97? Why would you make that comment when you don't know what you're talking about why would biggie spit on this track if he could've done it when he was alive when this song was made... i mean whaaaaa why is this a top comment whaat

  • @dafourthprimenumber Hmm, Chubb Rock is 'Bigga' than Biggie in any way!

  • @Life4daGame hahaha man I hope It Was a Joke..?

  • @maximerjb i like biggie but this man has a better "character"!

  • @Life4daGame lol If you want. Anyway he's not better than Biggie at all bro

  • @maximerjb Chubb Rock is way better than BIG... Biggies aight but if he aint die he wouldnt be as famous as he was. remember he only put out one LP. yes it was classic, but CR's been around forever, his discography is greater and in my personal preference he has more classic songs... I like CR's voice, flow, rhymes, & delivery more than biggies. most underground heads that were old enough to live through the pre/post biggie pac era would say the same thing. its all personal pref tho

  • @KickBack90sBeats haha ok ok If it is your opinion I respect that. For me Biggie is better that's all. Don't try to make me change my mind, it won't.

  • @KickBack90sBeats Dude it depends on your perso tastes .. For me Biggie is far away better. Don't try to make me change my opinion, it is useless.

  • @maximerjb no worries man I wont give you any more reasons why I think Chubb Rock is/was better than Biggie. to each his own... by the way... Im goin to guess (in no specific order) your top 5 all time fav emcees. tell me if Im close... Biggie, Pac, JayZ, Eminem, Nas...

  • @KickBack90sBeats lol Not at all man, my top 5 is Mos Def, Binary Star, Big KRIT,Bone Thug's Harmony, Talib Kweli.. I loved the 90's Jay-Z, Pac , Nas Eminem too. What is your top five bro?

  • @maximerjb word. I see that top 5 everywhere & it comes from heads that dont know anything bout hip hop. good 2 see you're not 1 of em.

Reggie Noble (aka Redman) - Dare iz a Darkside, Muddy Waters, def squad, his beats

Guru RIP - everything gangstarr, his beats

AG (of Show & AG) - Goodfellas etc

    The Artifacts - EVERYTHING

Pharoah Monche (of Organized Konfusion days) - their LP, their single from New Jersey Drive ost, etc

honorable mentions: Miilkbone, LOTUG, Onyx, Mally G, Sadat X

  • @maximerjb whats your top 5 LP's? (where every track is good, no fillers)

    mines (in order):

    1. Dare iz a Darkside (Reggie Noble)

    2. Da Miilkcrate (Miilkbone)

    3. Firing Squad (MOP)

    4. All we got iz us (ONYX)

    5. Last Chance No Breaks (Jamal aka Mally G)

honorable mentions: Guru Presents illkid records comp, Goodfellas, Between a rock and a hard place (Artifacts), Wild Cowboys (Sadat X), The Main Ingredient (Pete Rock CL)

Pete Rock is my fav prod. Damu The Fudgemunk is nice 2.

  • @KickBack90sBeats I got many on my mind..let's try. n°1) Black On Both Side By Mos Def (1999) with Hip hop,Mathematic,Ms.Fat Booty etc n°2) Black Star (1998) By Black Star (Duets of Mos Def & Talib Kweli) with Thives In the night etc.. n°3) Master Of Universe by Binary Star (2000) with Reality Check,Love,Master of universe .n°4) 93' Till Infinity by Souls Of Mischief (1993) with 93 till infinity,Live and let live ,n°5) The Tipping point by The Roots (Black Thought) (2004) Guns are drawn, etc.

  • @maximerjb word!

  • @maximerjb also cant forget Jeru as 1 of the nicest emcees all time. and Main Source's Fuck What You Think LP is all joints, no fillers... dont want to sound like those hip hop heads I was makin fun of, but Illmatic was flawless thanks 2 Preemo! theres just toooooo many legends to name a top 5 emcees, producers, LP's, 12" etc. its hard yo! haha peace

  • @KickBack90sBeats I made a mistake, I must add one of my favorite emcees, i think he can be the hip " hope " if you know what i mean bro. Return of 4eva by Big krit.. Every Track was dope bro. He's awesome !

  • @maximerjb I would have to listen to his LP to judge for real.. but from what I heard on a Duck Down promo video he wasn't my style... I think Damu The Fudgemunk takes the role of "hip hope" you're referring to! makes the ill boom bap beats and spits a nice verse... peep my crew from Amsterdam called Da Shogunz... we press vinyl... make ill 12bit beats with hardware. Im currently in the conversion to hardware stage, however ive been fuckin with vinyl since 94! peace

  • @KickBack90sBeats your beats are awesome. I checked your page like months ago and your shit is dope. I wish my beats were as good as yours

  • music these day's has lost it's SOUL AND MEANING

  • Classic !

  • This song brings back so many memories growing up. The main character reminds me of my self. Trying to slang and make money. Had a dream but squashed it cuz I was street struck. And he has stomach problems but can't stop drinking whats fukn his stomach up.

  • Cases of Heineken..

    Groeten uit Amsterdam..

  • the youth have more access to music than any generation ever before i am 45 yrs old father my son is 15 and his phone is filled with real hip hop - its our job to educate the youth in all aspects - remember hip hop is enterprizing businessmen on the corner = masters of ceremony = + blue collar turned to Bourgeoisie = the current 99percent movement + vietnam vets come back looking like one arm pets = iraq, afghanistan, etc. first to know and speak were our minority communities ,,underpriviled

  • I was playing this song when i was 16. And now 16 year olds are playing Wiz Khalifa and Nikki Minaj. How bad i feel for these youngsters

  • @superb111 There are still those who understand hip hop,and at a young age. I'm one of few.

  • @julianEZ890 you're not special, stfu

  • @deathbeast18 I was never making that implication. Get over yourself.

  • Jeru kills it.

  • jerus verse.. whooooo!.. needs to be a college requirement

  • I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT ANY BETTER HIP-HOP

  • DJ Premier puts 100% into every beat! greatest producer ever!

  • Ahhh..."Clockers" was a great film with a KILLER soundtrack! Harvey Keitel and Mekhi Phifer were magnificent!

  • rap is like wine, it's better with time.

  • @RedLightSalvation

So ur saying that sugarhill gang is the best? smh.

  • subliminal hypnotism and colonialism leaves most niggas dead or in prison.

  • This is one of those rare songs where it's difficult to tell who had the best verse because they all came with it.

  • @MyJunior1975 i prefer the fat one, hes like biggie without acting like a hard crack dealer.

  • @ihateblacksism ....The big guy you're referring to is Chubb Rock

  • @ihateblacksism and he predates biggie. and he's from brooklyn. he's the chubbster himself, CHUBB ROCK

  • notice how the ads didnt come on for the old school shit HELL YEA

  • Liked & Shared!! PEACE

  • I listen to many music styles. Jazz, hardcore, metal even classical. But no other music sends chills down my spine like 90s hip hop. There is so much poetry and jazzy rugged NY style to his music, it has changed my life. Cats like Jeru deserve to be considered gods of Hip Hop. Im not black, or even from the US, but this music makes me feel what they have to say, and think about what it really means. In THAT lies the true power of great music, and I'll be bumping these tracks for decades!

  • @Granattaaaaaa rare to see someone tell it this well...props

  • @Granattaaaaaa you like jazzy beats? you gota check our shit bro

  • @Granattaaaaaa Jeru da damaja is tha bomb

  • from the west, bone thugs with e1999 eternal from midwest.. way too many good records.. :)

  • 1996 was the best year

  • So we're just going to act like Chubb Rock didn't kill this shit? I still have the Treat Em Right EP on cassette

  • I miss the 90s...like really really miss them. best music ever

  • juru owns..

  • ...hip-hop was comfort food for my brothers and sisters struggling during the Reagan era; thriving when the CIA was selling crack to us in our most vulnerable and desperate state to finance their illegal wars... when this nation set us back nearly a half century by causing the crack epidemic of the 1980's that continues to his day... hip-hop gave us pride, a haven away from the rest of America that rejected and marginalized us. IT AIN'T FOR Y'ALL. IT'S NOT!
