  • kwok sir!

  • holly fuck. i need one.

  • I need to find the names of 2 Chinese songs can you help please?

  • Awesome.

  • @ayanuhito they're 香港人

  • they have a nice harmony essence between them~peaceful!

  • This is superb ~

  • GREAT JOB!!!!

  • you're very nice!

  • Lovely!

  • BEAUTIFUL MUSIC AND INSTRUMENT

  • BRAVO !!

  • isnt it the same thing as the shamisen in japan??

  • no, no and no. sorry but sanxian is extremely different from shamisen

  • you should substantiate that comment. HOW is it different?

  • Not having seen one in person, I'm not an absolute authority, but as best as I can tell the various forms of this instrument vary only slightly in construction and material; no more than different guitars. The main difference seams to be the plectum and the playing styles. I suspect you could easily interchange any of the sanxian family, from the Tsugaru-jamisen to the Mongolian Shudraga and play acceptable performances in any of the genres.

  • actually shanmisen is originally from sanxian~^_^

  • cool!

  • @wsliuz no. sanxian > sanshin > amami shamisen > shamisen. shamisen developed from sanshin.

  • @itsumonihon And Sanshin developed from sanxian. Source of the source ^^

  • they use bear skin of a dead-cat for shamisen's body. while use bear skin of a dead-snake for sanxian.

but okinawan(far southern japan) sanshin has a body made with snake skin.

  • snake skin for chinese sanxian

  • i love the sound of chinese sanxian!

is it a popular instrument there?

i'm very glad to see youngstars playing

it!! thanks for posting a nice video!!!

  • Not popular,it is the most difficult Chinese instrument to learn.

Anybody can translate mi opinion in english? I not very good with the english...

  • the song is beautiful, and the make a good duet, but what I liked the most is both's smile at the end.

    he ahi la traduccion ^^

  • muchas gracias.

De verdad te lo agradesco ^^

  • Sanxian --> Sanshin --> Shamisen

  • COOL! This is like Shamisen sort of. My favorite Shamisen player is Kevin Kmetz the American master. I think he is Shamisendemon.

Anyway this music is just SO great. I love it.

  • thats pretti cool : )

  • Kinda reminds me of cantonese opera

  • This is one of the most beautiful Chinese instrumental music I have ever heard. I am a Chinese (Cantonese) living in the U.S. and never had a chance to listen to this kind of music. Chinese music is very broad indeed. Thank you for sharing this video.

  • I love this music and instrument!! Where does it come from???

  • China

  • yes! I can tell it comes from China but is there more detail anyone can tell about the song and the background of this style? I play Shamisen which is almost exactly the same as this but from japan. I would love to learn more about this music and maybe try to play some of it myself.

  • it is not played with a bachi, three strings snake skin covering

  • I have only one work : "bravo". Pls continue to practice and pass it on.

  • Excellent performance!!!!!!!!

  • wow! such a sweet melody... great duet

  • Amazing performance, by the way. Enjoyed it very much. You are both very talented.

  • If you guys get a chance, please check out our group "Monsters of Shamisen" that features tsugaru shamisen from northern Japan.

  • my friend plays a shamisen. It's really almost the same instrument.

That's snakeskin tho? He said shamisen has like dogskin or something... (Bye bye pooch! lol)

  • And cat skin, but there is a version of shamisen that uses snake skin. Which still isn't the exact same as the sanxian.

  • The snakeskin "shamisen" is a sanshin (or Jabisen), the okinawan precursor of the Shamisen.

  • lol, nice, and if you look out the window they are really high up :)

  • pretty job

Its not easy to master sanxian, thus very few people want to learn this insitument nowadays.

Its very touching to see people learing it and playing it so well.

  • i really love San-Xian since childhood... hvnt got a chance to learn... but its really great to see someone has uploaded san-xian stuff here! please upload more!! please! maybe Da-Lang-Tao-Sha by A-Bing the blind taoist priest from Wu-Xi near Su-Zhou

  • Ah, I finally get to the hear the ancestor of the Okinawan Sanshin. It sounds like a pipa/cheery hawaiian music with Chinese taste in it.

  • You're doing good!!

  • Ett bra jobb!!
