  • Not the Emory show. Taped at Cannery

  • Is this Ralph Emory's show?

  • Thanks Bud. Thanks. You have brought great reminders of friends Richard Bass, Ray Emmitt & My Best Friend Faron Young. Anyway, played with them all, and at the "Wheel" , Nashville, TN we are friends. Faron, you know, we are friends forever. Love Ya, Kenny Brent

  • They just don't make country songs (or singers) like that anymore. Faron was greater than great and is sorely missed.

  • Real country. Thanks for posting.

  • Faron one of my all time favorites. You just can't beat Faron and his Band.

  • Dang! Faron barely looked any different from his younger years. RIP ... a great man gone.

  • Faron inspired me to play ,sing & write country music for over 30 years now. I cried like a baby when he passed(Only for him & Elvis) When you come from Memphis Tn you just Gotta love Faron! Now thats Country Hoss. This crap they play today aint country,...thats MTV with a COWBOY HAT! We do 4 in the morning alot for the Sheriff in my band in Texas! What a guy!

  • Hi Herb. Well, I grew up in Toronto, Canada. But in those days, Toronto wasn't the booming immigration center it is today. Elvis and Jerry Lee and Faron and Don Gibson were our heroes, 2---and rural Canada was simply all country, Leroy, Johnny, Marty, Conway, and on and on. What is that shit they call country today< Herb?. Isn't it an embarrassment? Since when were real country artists more concerned with seeming horny and "in your face" than the delivery of a well-told, well--played story?

  • Cont'd...but just 2 add that I, 2, am a longtime musician, but can think of almost no country I've truly enjoyed since the hey-day of Bobby Bare, Ronnie Milsap, and Crystal Gayle (Crystal? All right, but I've always always loved super smooth, somewhat poppy country, too. Faron: didn't "Hello Walls" blow u away? DId me. I'm still grateful, and play it, End of the World, Sea of Heartbreak, along with Bacharach, Spinners, Carpenters, LeGrande, u name it. The less attitude, the more gratitude.

  • Your forgivin for liking Crystal, what a classy lady she is and from a royal bloodline. Todays "country" is a disgrace. When Im gonna cry is when "the hag" ole Merle passes.

  • I agree, what they are calling country today,is rock& roll with a twang(sometimes, not even a twang!) And as you say, some of them even wear a hat! It's a crying shame.

  • My dad used to have a cassette of Faron that had a song about a girl falling in love with a soldier that had to go off to war and there was something about a bandanna and a tree in it. Do you know the name of this song and do you have it? I have looked everywhere and can't find it and I can't remember what the name of it is, but I loved that song!

  • Its called Yellow Bandanna i was just searching to see if it was on here and its not =( great song though.

  • My parents would always tell me about Faron Young. They met him at a show in NJ once. They told me about his voice. When I heard him sing, I was instantly hooked. No one can match the voice of the Sheriff!!! Timeless!

  • HI Richard, BETTY and CHUCK here, HOWs it going? Watched the video of Faron, but it don't seem to get any easier to watch. Was great seeing you, Ray, Cootie and all at the reunion tribute, but was a very emotional time for Chuck and me. So how's things in Nashville, hope to see you again next trip back there. LOVE as Always BETTY & CHUCK (OHIO)

  • Hey mom!!! lol This is a great video of Uncle Faron.

  • There's a new book about Faron, "Live Fast Love Hard." It's by Diane Diekman and all the Faron info you could want is there!

    Merry Christmas!

  • I wanna leave a lot of happy women

    A-thinkin' pretty thoughts of me

I wanna live fast, love hard, die young

    And leave a beautiful memory.

Joe Allison wrote it...Faron Young lived it.

  • He is handsome, lol and that wink is nearly automatic. The boys used to sing this when i was a teenager, guess they was trying to make a statement. Thanks

  • This song makes me tap my toes more than most modern songs do.
