Dj Serf - Installing the Denon DN-HD2500 midi features on VDJ

Hey bro there is a lot of information on your videos thanks alot my friend have a Denon hd 2500 and he wants to operate serato scratch live with it but, as soon and he plug it in and select pc mode aUSB device more alert comes up asking us to quit usb devide mode and power off its really frustraiting this situation if you can give us a hand will be brilliant thanks a lot again we ll be waiting for your replay thanks..

Question: Won't the HD-2500 also control the Dual CD deck? Am thinking of getting this system. Was just curious as to why you used a separate cd controller

* Step 3: When you bought the device it should of came with a cd with the firmware update V1400, the easiest thing i found out to do is to save the V1400 firmware update on a usb drive, plug it in to the USB port and run it through following the same steps in the HDD mode, follow the prompts on the device screen and you should be good!

Follow these simple steps for V1400: * Step 1: Load a song file in either deck. Then Cue or Pause the track, hold down the button labeled -preset for 2 seconds (on the same side (deck) where the file is loaded). The display should then indicate that you are in the preset mode. * Step 2: Then, turn the Parameter knob counterclockwise (backwards) until the display shows "Version No".

read my newest post, you need the updated Firmware or you are not enabling MIDI mode inside VDJ to correspond with the Denon device

I can not find a real good skin for the 2500. In your video you show a 2500 skin. where did you find this. I can't find this listed anywhere on VDJ or Denon site. Is there a website?Any chance you could email be the skin set up. I have upgraded my 2500 HDD to a 120 gb. Pleased to share how to do this if you are interested

i got denon hd-2500  and pionner mixer...i try to set up to virtual dj 6.0 for mix videos everything is ok with denon, is working perfect pitch-loops-scratch is moving the same on the screenin virtual but de chanel 1 and chanel 2 and fader in the mixer pionner what control the sound, doesn't move the chanels on the screen somebody could help me please (sorry for my English)

only the denon can midi with VDJ not the Pioneer mixer, so the pioneer can not control things within VDJ... i don't see how this would be a problem anyway

How did you tighten the latency between the 2500 & Virtual DJ?, I find it to be very sloppy as it is now.

Yes it does use an old Asio Driver which does only run in 16bit and does have some latency issues. But I have found to configure it to run its latency with 2ms under the ASIO driver settings in the setup of VDJ

Then again it all depends on your processor and how much ROM is available for VDJ

I am using my Gateway FX-P7805u gaming laptop with the dual core processor upgraded to a dual 2.8Ghz processor & the ram upgraded from 4Gb to 8 Gb (plus has many other upgraded goodies. So it's not an issue os the laptop not having enough of a spec to run things smoothly since it sails through all apps smoothly.

To all of you laptop Dj's. With a 2500 you DO NOT need a laptop. That is what the built in hard drive and usb connectivity is for.

Bro. I just bought one and the firmware is 1200. How do I update the firmware in this thing ? Are you running Vista ? Mine crashes when I select the midi option. I connected to a older laptop running XP and it works. Can you help me out ?

@djlmonte Why are you using a laptop when you can plug a hard drive or thumb drive up along with a keyboard via usb hub. You also have a built in 40gig hard drive. Is the thought of having a laptop what motivates this kind of thinking.

im sorry yess the DN-HD2500 does come with the fader start outputs which will sync to a proper Denon mixer with fader start....

However when using vdj i personally never attempted to use fader start with the denon controller and vdj but since the DN-HD2500 natively syncs with VDJ i don't see why it wouldn't work, however when you select the midi fuction on the controller to run with vdj it only uses the various effects/functions/ that are on vdj,

its doesn't allow you to use these buttons that are in accordance with the denon controller when you are in midi mode, its tough for me to say that this definitely would work because i don't have a Denon mixer with fader start.... sorry i couldn't help more but my guess is that since you can natively sync vdj with the Denon DN-HD2500 moving the faders would send the same signal as pressing cue or play on the controller if that makes sense...
