  • oh and id love to disolve some on her sexy wet lips, mmmmm salty and sweet.

  • Jesus Christ would be proud.

  • where did you buy your air lock?

  • A nice video. Thank you for posting it.

  • I learned in Biology that yeasts are decomposers. Fungi. They convert inorganic matter into organic matter. I never knew that there was biology involved.

  • what's the device you use to measure the specific gravity? and how does that tell you whether or not you need more sugar?

  • fu** is wrong with everyone...the guy isn't here to entertain you ...hes showin you how to get the job done...if you wanna be entertained you tube an elephant having sex with a midget or something lol

  • @username1235400 i wouldn't mind seeing that in this video, but to be fair it would probably get the vid taken down. i also get your point. this man is giving us some good information in this vid.

  • This guy is cool....no warm and fuzzys, just

information on how to. Betcha he packs too!

  • lol this is nuts. its ping, I am starting to make my own wine and have been watching countless vids and came across you guys. im gonna have to get ahold of chris now. Good job guys...

  • Howdy

    I liked the presentation, thanks.

Could you please tell (us Europeans) the weight of that packet of yeast?

    BR from Finland

  • nice video. i am trying this for the first time i am using apple/cherry concentrate . i am just wondering if you try that before. and if so how many of the concentrate did you put in. thanks

  • this guy is very intense and that monotone voice is very boring.

  • Alright, i've watched alot of ways to make home-made wine, your was probably the closest i found to be easy and actually home-made (none of that 50$ stirring stick shit)

A question i had was, i'm stationed in a arab country that doesnt sell yeast like lavlin, they only yeast i could find around here was Baking yeast, was wondering if it was possible to use that instead!?. thanks!

  • And apparently you also have to be pissed to make wine. SOB cheer up bruh!

  • But great job on the video!

  • @TechnicianMad You want spring water not distilled water because distilled water doesn't have the minerals the yeast eats,so use spring water or filtered tap

  • Putting tap water right out of the tap is BAD. Tap water has chlorine in it and the chlorine will kill your yeast. Always use distilled water when making wine and at the very minimum, at least boil your tap water first before using it!

  • Gingers have no souls.

  • He seems enthused.

  • @seniornastyman : He didn't really want to make this video. LOL! I forced him to.

  • @seniornastyman tell me about it....... i was wondering how long 'til it's ready & he says "'til it's ready"? how does that help..? LOL

  • @seniornastyman if he was he would not use tap water :O distilled water is how the pro's do it

  • did you boil it to make the sugar desolve?

  • good video....I might of missed it...but how long did you let it sit in carboy before bottling? was it months? thanks again....

  • dude grow a personality

  • @farnumjim THANKYOU!!!!!!!

  • jesus alot of steps my brother just dumbs fruits suger n yest in a bucket for 3 months and it taste amazing

  • @chaosdemon1985 any clue on the alcohol content?

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt ummm i cant remember it was alittle above average tho.. taste great i think he used 2 pounds og grapes n the make it yourself yeast if tht helps...

  • Ok you commented on the yahoos who need things handed to them on a silver platter who can't take the initiative to figure out things on their own. Nice hydrometer where did you buy it why didn't you use an egg. How about your airlock. A hole drilled into a cork or any lid with a tube inserted then followed into a glass of water is just as good. Is that your hair cut or your yahoo crown...King Yahoo!!! or do you prefer KING DOUCHE!!!

  • Now that's wine with attitude! Thanks ;)

  • "..who don't want to take the initiative to find out how to do it for themselves." Dude, I fucking love you. Your woman is a lucky, if I were female I would be all over you just for that...this sounds kinda gay...sooooo, I'm just gonna stop writing. Thanks for teaching us how to make wine.

  • apathetic much lol

  • hey, to those of you who don't make wine and keep telling him to show some enthusiasm, he's an oenologist and she's a sommelier. if you're being precise while you work, even hobo wine tastes like something most schmucks will pay $50 for just because it has a label. cool vid, guys. wonder how long the government's going to let us keep making wine. Some guy in a dry county in Alaska was arrested just for purchasing yeast, sugar and juice about a month ago.

  • please tell me this guy is not your boyfriend, not that it matters, but he's a total smartass and doesn't deserve someone as sweet as you seem to be, anyway good tutorial, and tell ginger baker to stop being a jerk and taking you for granted.pax.

  • so, he's not giving measurements clearly, my recipe is equal amounts of berries to water, i use DISTILLED water, never tap water, and i put the berries in a produce bag, one of those fiber strainer deals. he's also using only water, juice, sugar and yeast, Lavin is the best yeast for fruit, but they make more than one type, try different ones. My recipe calls for yeast nutrient, Camden as well, but beware of sulfates and sorbates. if you only do what this guy says, harder to screw up!

  • I made two batches but with fresh berries, organic berries. I did not boil water/sugar first, but this step probably helps speed things up as long as you do not put yeast in hot water, it should be about body temperature. I could do without some of the commentary but the video is good and he's audible. closed captions would help. The other steps he is showing are all important, particularly specific gravity reading. I inadvertently sterilized my last batch by using additives don't do that!

  • Actually,

Yeast eats sugar, Craps Alcohol, Farts co2, Fornicates in the must to make more yeast then dies & sinks to the bottom & the new yeast repeats the process until the Alcohol level becomes to toxic to live in or sugar runs out.

It kinda explains where the word shitfaced comes from.

    :- )

  • Hmmm.. I've never done any of the technical stuff to make wine mine has turned out great. Just family traditions and secrets is all I need :D

  • do you have to heat up the water and disolve the sugar or can u just add it cause i opened up a bottle of welches grape and added yeast and sugar shook it up now im lettin it sit will that work

  • RedFarmerGreen u r right about the quality of well water vs. tap water. Tap water does taste like shit compared to well water. I've heard the same things about tap water having additives in it.

  • Clean tap water? Yeah right...

  • did it... turned out welll

  • Great video! Thanks for posting. I agree with the winemaker's comment between 3 and 4 minutes in; about the yahoos not taking initiative to figure things for themselves. So true!! That was the most intelligent thing I've come across on youtube yet. The wine making tutorial was informative as well, without a bunch of BS. Thanks for sharing your knowlege.

    JP-

  • You look like the gay guy from Modern Family.

  • You use tap water?!!?! Yuck! But then I guess I'm lucky to have a natural sand filtered well on our farm with very clean water and different wild fruits throughout the summer to make wine with. I'm just getting started this year and am hoping for good results. It's been just over a year since you posted this vid. How did this batch turn out? I have a batch of cantaloupe/blackberry and another of Colorado Peach.going now. Looking to make elderberry next. Good luck and good drinking to you.

  • @RedFarmerGreen most well water taste like shit in fact when city water becomes available the property value goes way up. you can argue this if you need to but this fact is a nation wide. ask any real estate agent. ps if cantaLOUPE was a good choice for wine im sure the french winemakers would have know it already. people now days have gone a little crazy on what they are putting into fermented drinks. all the artsy fartsy folks seem to think they just cant be different enough to get attention.

  • @datzfast Wow dude, don't get your panties in a bunch! I just happen to live in a part of the country where the aquifer springs to the surface through a layer of sand. A natural filter if there ever was one. Tap water has been processed with chemicals and fluoride is added. You don't even know what's all in it. As far as the cantaLOUPE goes, hey, it's my first batch ever and if it turns out bad, lesson learned. I'm just a redneck farm boy. there's nothing artsy fartsy about me. Later

  • can i use rum as a sanitizer

  • HOW DID THE BLUE/POM TURN OUT ON A SCALE OF 1-10 WITH 10 BEING THE HIGHEST RATING.

ALSO, HOW MUCH YEAST FOR A 6 GAL. CARBOY?

  • Great video thanks, work on a Jonny Depp impression you sound very similar.

  • You make it looks so simple. I'm going to try it. THANK YOU for posting and your helper is a keeper. You two work well together.

  • whut would happend if you drank it in the middle of fermeting?

  • How would you like to buy my handy dandy hydrometer reading jar? Made of 100% enviromentally clean plastic and not even $10!...now this is a stea for winemakers like yourself.

But I am told that you cannot use tap water; distilled or spring only....

  • @torchidman You can use tap water as long as it doesn't have a harsh flavor or have problem with hard water. If you have these problems best thing to do in the short run is buy by the jugs. Long term run..buy a water filter. A good reading jar is to use the container that it came in ( the plastic pipe that protected it.

  • Curious....does the chlorine affect the mix?

  • I guess you don't have a chip on your shoulder do ya? BTW, good instruction but the whole process is scientific.

  • Did you ever use fresh fruit? I have a shitload of grapes in my yard that are smaller with seeds so I don't have the patience to be spitting seeds when I eat grapes. So I want to make some wine. If there is anything different other than smashing the grapes, let me know. Also, did you say there is different types f yeast for various wines? I want to make a dry white wine. I assume less sugar? Thanks for the recipe and tips.

  • Great video and thanks for the info, best on home made wine ive come across so far.

  • I want a stir stick and hand in my wooden spoon as part exchange.

  • Hi there I am from Saudi Arabia and Alcohol is not allowed but still can be

purchased illegally. I want to make a homemade wine but the problem

is we dont have wine yeast we only have bread yeast.

Is it possible to make wine with a bread yeast or without yeast at all depending

only upon the natural yeast that the fruit produce??

We have a very very hot weather Does that help??

    Thank you

  • @MrOmarr1991

Yes it is, I make wine with bakers yeast and it works fine, just get the faster rise yeast though. And hot weather dose help cause higher temp rises the yeast faster.

  • @KingToads why use bakers yeast when wine yeast cost only .80 a packet and you get a much better wine and higher alcohol content? I understand the other guy doesnt have a choice for his yeast but u do

  • @Adol666

I would but idk how to get wine yeast.... Mind telling me?

  • woooooooooow i just saw the other video the one with the bloopers & silly stuff. and what i crazy coincidence my friends name is chris too.hahahahah that made my day!!!!!

  • hahahahhahahhahah this guy reminds me of a guy i knew that thought he knew eeeeeeverything about everything. you can tell by the way he explains things, with the "are you stupid how did you not know this attitude". great video laughed a lot!

  • best wine brew vid on the tube!

  • sowe he is a bite of a red neack i like kind of like me

  • yeah he was probably like yeah wines done.....let's go pack one. hahaha

  • thanks buddy, whats pH and sugar /brix readingsfor sparkling wine you making..please

  • where's the pot plants XD jk

hey ty's wow thats what i needed to know gr8 vid btw

  • doesn't have a high alcohol tolerance level and the yeast end up dying in their own piss at about 6%-9% alcohol content but it still works!I end up getting a good buzz with only 2 glasses of wine(Im 19 btw).As a matter of fact,I have a gallon of wine right now in the fridge going through the secondary fermentation process.I could drink it already but Im going to let it sit for a month or two.haha my parents dont mind at all..theyr'e cool.

  • Nice vid man.My first batch of gallon of grape wine(Welch's 100% concentrate) turned out to be a disaster as I didn't sanitize the water jug or the equipment I used.Ended up tasting all yeasty with a strong rancid smell.I used bakers yeast, couldnt find any wine yeast at the nearby liquor store. However my second batch and the rest after that turned out to taste yummy.I learned online that you have to sanitize everything, including your hands.I know bakers yeast is for baking and...

  • What would happen if I used Welchers grape juice premade.

  • @TheCaliCapitalist I've seen people just pour some sugar and yeast straight into the bottle of juice and it worked perfectly. The cooking is mostly to evaporate some water to get more sugar content, sterilize the batch and or evaporate the added sugars

  • @oomshnah1

Im going to boil the sugar to break it down. But if I through some sugar and some yeast straight into the juice then stir it it will be okay? This going to come in handy when I move.

  • @TheCaliCapitalist Yeah this will work just perfectly thats how i do it but hopefully i can get a good setup in the future

  • 6:02 hahaha Nice way of putting it :-) Thanks for sharing these videos :-D

  • This is awesome. My partner bakes beer, but wants to get started on wine for me to drink. I will have to show him this video!

  • @chatabox0girl : Does he have a favorite kind he usually makes? We've made beer some but prefer to do the wine. It's just so yummy!

  • @JessC00k jeez I just realised I put bakes instead of makes. He's a baker, so getting totally confused here! :)

He makes all sorts, but his fav at the moment is an Australian pale ale. I made him make a few stout's a while back as that susposedly helps increase milk supply, so thats whats in our fridge at the moment. I really want to get started on wine tho. Do you have more vids? I need to go back and have a look!

  • @chatabox0girl: I have one posted about bottling wine and then a blooper vid I made w/some random stuff I left out of the how to wine making video. Other than those no other wine making vids uploaded at this point. You should get your hubby to do some beer making tutorial vids. My hubby and I would def watch em!

  • @JessC00k Yeah I will. But he cheats and makes it from a pack like Jen's wine lol. We don't have the set up to brew from scratch.

  • @chatabox0girl australian anything is the best!

  • @chatabox0girl If you use distilled water you will get a better product. Tap water kills yeast and destroys most of your alcohol content. Your tap water has treated for germs and organisms and yeast is a type of organism. distilled water is cheap about a buck or so a gallon.

  • Does your husband make beer too? I love you !!! I swear we could hang out and have a great time... our hubbies could too :) Your husband's commentary just cracks me up !!! The companies that steal your money LOL.... This is a great video for how to make wine !! Does the champagne yeast help to make the wine sparkling? I sooooo want to make sparkling wine.

  • @Parkerfur : Yea, Chris makes beer too! He doesn't have as nice a set up as your hubby though. I actually showed him in your video when I saw it, I was like,, WOAH CHRIS CHECK THIS OUT! Haha! The champagne yeast helps make it sparkling/bubbly! Also, if you watch the bottling video he mentions when you bottle a sparkling you put a little sugar in the bottom of each bottle before you fill it and that helps make it extra bubbly too!

  • @JessC00k Thanks for the sparkling wine tip... my husband is super afraid that the bottles will blow up. I cheat when I make wine and use the kits... Chris would probalby be appalled :) Next time Blake brews I will have to show a video of it. He and his dad made that set up (took about a year) and he loves it... he used to do his pretty ghetto :)

  • @Parkerfur : We'd LOVE to see a video of his beer operation! Yea,, tell your hubby he doesn't have to worry about the bottles blowing up! LOL! All you do is put the bails on the bottles and they are perfectly fine. The pop just like champagne when you go to open them!!

  • @Parkerfur : I asked Chris to make sure I told you correctly regarding the champagne yeast. When making a sparkling wine you want to shoot for a higher alcohol content. Champagne yeast has about 13% alcohol tolerance. Different strains of yeast have different alcohol tolerances and yield different results. That is a more accurate answer than mine previously! LOL!

  • Thanks will try if you hear a loud explosion in the north it just our home. Lol. See I knew he had to be related to us canadians. :)

  • @kidstwomany : LOL!

  • I am doing this! Have you seen the amount of empty wine bottles in our kitchen! lol We love wine! And this seems like a really inexpensive alternative! I'm fovoriting this so I can come back to it later! Thanks for sharing! =)

  • @DevinandErica : We love wine too! It's soooooooo much cheaper to make your own. Once we started making it we realized how many different way you really can make wine so we plan to expand our repertoire as we go along. Right now our favorite is making sparkling wine. What can we say, we like bubbles! ;) If you ever have any questions just let me know.

  • @JessC00k How do you get it sparkling?

  • Now my husband is going to do this. I'll start him with a small kit from the shop. I enjoy your clips. :)

  • @kidstwomany : You can also start with one of those camping water bladders. All you'd need to do is make a cap for the top with a hose and then have the hose placed in a glass of water so it doesn't come out. That way the water creates the airlock and allows the gas to release! :D

  • @JessC00k : Chris did this once for making beer and he told me that he just used the cap that came with it and used hose that was a little smaller than the nozzle so it fit right over it. Then he wrapped some metal wire around the other end to weight it into the glass so it wouldn't slip out. Next time we make beer we'll have to video that too.

  • This is cool, I've never heard of anything like this before! =D

  • @rachiibuu : It's an old recipe from Chris' Grandpa! It tastes SOOOO good!
