I Love This Man! - What a soul, what talent! I really love' Mr. Moon' and 'Akasha Wind' (introduced to me by a friend of his) don't even think of trying to play his tunes though - arthritic chords!
I had the honor of spending quality time with LJ this past weekend. He is truly a wonderful individual blessed with a Heavenly talent that only a higher power could provide. The world should be introduced to him. Blessings my Bro!!!
You are Beautiful! I am dancing in my chair. It is a joy to watch someone love what they are doing as much as this Beautiful man does. If you ever get a chance to see LJ perform, do so.Take as many people with you as you can stuff in the car and bungee to the luggage rack. You will get a gift of a performance.
I saw LJ open up for Carrie Newcomer in the basement of a church. He sang a song about his mother acapella (sp) and it was one of the most gripping musical moments I've ever experienced. I'll never forget it.
How long ago was that? I'd LOVE to see LJ again - but don't know when/where. His website hasn't seen updates in some time last I checked. He's an AMAZING performer and phenomenal guitarist!
Daaaaaaamn... this guy rocks! Thank god for youtube - I'd have never heard him otherwise, and that would have been a shame! I love his singing, too - he's got those crazy guitar skills and that voice? Rock on!
Decent playing and he's got a good voice. He should 'sing out' more, a bit louder. Could be the recording though. But those faces he makes feels a bit rock star pretentious, especially when it looks like he's smiling at his own playing skills.
I could see how it could look that way from this video, but there's nothing pretentious about this guy. He's way humble and really gets into it when he plays. I first saw him when he opened for David Wilcox in concert and after the show, everyone wanted to know more about LJ. Wilcox was great, but LJ was amazing!
Like another visitor, I first heard L.J. play several years ago, opening for David Wilcox. He's an amazingly talented writer and performer and an honest, humble guy. His abilities are even more stunning in person -- if you get a chance to see him live, don't pass it up. As for the 'faces': after seeing him perform quite a few times, and getting to know him a bit, it's pretty apparent to me that he's just honestly reflecting the joy he feels when he plays, nothing pretentious or vain about it.

As it says in the description, this is LJ's original song. Willie Porter recorded it.

Classic YouTube: horrible production, genius performance! LJ is the real deal. A carpenter, single father, living on a farm in Wisconsin.

...yes, those are real crickets in the background :) Makes a nice backdrop for this tune. LJ is a huge Michael Hedges fan - can you tell?
