  • Hey Brandon, I'm in the market for my first 22 pistol. What, in your opinion is the best option? What would you personally buy? And for what reason? Thanks in advance for you reply. Cheers, Merlin.

  • BTW. Thanks for all your awesome videos! They have been a great source of information and general good times! Oh, and I have to say, you and your lady are pretty great shooters! Keep it up!

  • That techniques you use for getting the mainspring assembly to drop into place and then to engage the hammer peg are excellent. Earned you a sub!

  • Thanks

  • I have field stripped my MK III Stainless Hunter at least a couple of dozen times, I like the two tips you showed. The brass casing one was the best, I like how you did the hammer strut trick, thanks for the tips, I am glad I subbed your channel, thanks.

  • great video man

  • Excellent...thanks man. Your tips explain alot

  • This video is better than the ones released by Ruger. Thank you.

  • Thank You Brandon!

  • Thanks Brandon I favorited this video a few months ago and finally got around to stripping my Mark II after 20 years of faithful service.

It hasn't been this clean for years and this video was invaluable!

  • Great tricks for reassembly. Next time I am following to get that last step down pact with the spring tension on the latch.

  • damn fine vid brandon. your right...that is a pain in the ass. the browning buckmark is much easier & has a better trigger. i will say the mark III looks to be built more heavy duty. peace out.

  • Excellent video. I have this same pistol. Love shooting it with my sparrow 22!

  • You are an excellent instructor. Thanks

  • nice vid, ty!

  • Thats a nice pistol

  • Probably the best fieldstrip video on a Mark III I've seen on Youtube. Good job.

  • Just got the gun and just fired 500 rounds. it's pretty dirty. This has been the best video for getting it ready to clean. Thanks a lot.

  • By far the best Ruger 22/45 strip/reassembly video I've seen!

  • Great video! Thanks!

  • Hey Brandon, are you happy with the performance of the gun, as far as jams/malfunctions? I'm thinking about getting one. Thanks!

  • you have to get the speed strip kit from majestic arms it makes it so simple

  • Very helpful details Brandon!

After watching it i still cannot figure out how i managed to re-assemble mine every time. I only know that every time i have to clean and re-assemble it i feel like throwing the darn thing out in the lake.

  • awesome video!! thanks

  • I hat to say it, but that style of the Ruger MKlll, is ugly as sin!

  • Nice instructional vid!

  • Great video.

  • Nice video. Mark II hammer bushing makes things even simpler, however.

  • That does answer a lot of questions. Is it still the exact same process as the MkII?

  • Great info, And great channel I sub'ed after 4 vids, I have a bushnell TRS-25.... Amazon for 79.00 and under 4.0 oz. Mine is now on my ruger 22/45 just like yours. ( also ordered the Volquartsen. Accurizing mkII kit and the mkII hammer bushing on backorder thru midway

  • Excellent info!

  • that was a great demo. My Mark II is slightly different, understandably.

I didn't field strip my pistol for the first 26 years I had it. Just ran a brush and patch down the barrel, and put her up.

When I finally gut the nerve to break in, it was a great youtube video that walked me through it.

Thousands of rounds, 26 years, and two generations shooting her, and my Ruger only had some lint on the recoil spring.

I like the looks of the Mark III, and the ergo 22/45.

    Ruger=Great firearms.

  • Good video. I inherited a Standard my father bought new in 1950. Mother gave it to me to get it out of house when he passed. It sat in box from 1988 to 2009 when I shot it. Found video on field stripping it, and what a pain. I’ll never sell it, but I no longer shoot it cause I never want to field strip it again. I replaced with a Sig Mosquito. More modern and very easy to field strip. If I do shoot the ruger again, I’ll use your video. It’s better than what I used before.

  • great vid man, only thing that could make it better is if that hot wife of yours was in it! we need more kirsti!

  • ★★★★★

  • I don't have this gun or anything but I'm "liking" based on the fine macro on your camera and excellent tutorial. Your a good teacher Brandon. Bless.

  • check out Majestic Arms dot com they have a strip down kit that takes about a minute for the Ruger

  • I really enjoy all your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

  • Thanks for the field strip vid, best one I've seen yet!

  • Thanks a lot for your time and effort on this video. I'm going to get a Mark lll Hunter stainless and this is probably the best disassmbly/assembly video I've seen. A great help. Thanks again. I subcribed

  • @BenjiREC Every pistol is individually fitted. they are only going to interchange if you get lucky even if they are the exact same model. At least that's what I was told by a Ruger rep.

  • Added to my favorites!

  • Good job - very helpful

  • @BenjiREC cant beat that :)

  • Cool video! I hope sometime you show us how to take apart the lower. I did it once with my mark II and am scared to do it again! I need to see you do it first!

  • @hagenoft will do my friend.

  • Great video man, put it in my favorites, much needed video for all of us who love this gun, you made it look easy

  • @brotherskeepers111 Thanks my friend, I appreciate you watching.

  • Thanks, Brandon! Great vid...Short, sweet and simple! Uhhh...could i get your number? I'm about to go field strip my Mark II! 8-)

  • Thank you so much.... That is the best Ruger Mk3 break down video that I have ever seen... You are good!!!!!! Into my favorites this will go....Thanks Again!!!!

  • @TampaCary Thanks alot my friend, I appreciate you watching

  • Good video. I'll be putting this in my favorites. I know it will come in handy when i clean my MKIII. Sometimes I struggle putting mine back together. My fingers don't work as well as they used to.

  • @Crustymarine Thanks for watching.

  • @Crustymarine Thanks for watching.

  • @Crustymarine Thanks for watching.

  • You made that look way easy. My Mark III is new and it was a real pain the first few times I took it apart. It has loosened up considerably now, but unfortunately I scratched the back strap when I first took it apart. I should have been more careful but heck it's a gun, not a piece of art. Awesome demonstration brother. God bless.

  • very cool video!!

  • I could have used this vid a while back! I've had MKI, MKII, and I knew how to maintain them, but the MKIII is a little different. I used up a whole month worth of cuss words until I figured out what I was doing wrong. LOL Thanks for sharing

  • @GunznGear lol I hear ya on that. Thanks for watching my friend.

  • Excellent video

  • thanks

  • Very nice disassembly video. This is how they should be done. Great job, Brandon.

  • My 1990's model stainless mkIII strut / takedown lever was cast or injection molded so roughly that even getting past the first part was a struggle. The surface finish was like blunt 80 grit sandpaper...not kidding. They had to have used a hammer to get it in at the factory.

I finally took some 600 grit sand paper with oil for lube and polished it smooth, and now it's a piece of cake to take apart.

  • Wow!!! Now that's complicated!!!! Thx for the video, friend!

  • Great video for the take down, My local gun shop talked me out of a ruger due to the difficulttly in dissassembly. Bought a S&W model 41. Over Twice the cost but i still would like a new ruger at some point. Thanks again.

  • is that top rail removable?

  • Good to see this one up Kentucky, should help many Ruger owners. Great Video.......OohRah

  • Nice that you show how to take the bolt apart, I hadnt seen that before or cleaned mine yet.

  • Great vid Brandon! What types of gun cleaner do you use?

  • best Ruger mk-III reassembly video on the web!

  • Great video, you have got to get rid of that magazine safety!!!! I put an aftermarket bushing in and love it!

  • Great vidieo !

  • Excellent video ! thanks

  • :D!

  • Excellent video Brandon. You are a great teacher!

  • Excellent ......... well done.

  • nice vid

  • Thanks for making such a clear and simple demonstration of the field strip of a Mark III. I found I wasn't shooting mine as often as I'd like because re-assembly was always a big PITA. Now I'm less anxious about putting it back together.

  • You make it look so easy! I have had mine a while and i still hate to clean it. great gun other than that.

  • Very Informative video Brandon....I don't own one...but it is always good to

    Learn new things...

    Thanks...

    Target On...E1

  • I've never cussed at any of my guns... except for my Ruger rimfire pistol. It would be an understatement to say putting it back together the first few times is an aggravation. Great video as always, buddy.

  • Thank you!

  • Awesome!!!!! Great video!

  • Very nice clear video. Best I've seen on the subject.

  • It's all about the hammer strut and mainspring housing. One you figure out how they interact it's a breeze!

  • nice job

  • Brandon, this was one of the most useful videos that I have seen in a long time from anybody. Those Ruger 22 pistols have a couple of "secrets" that if you know them, you can disassemble/reassemble relatively quickly; but if you don't know them, then you end up fighting with the thing for a long time (and the user's manual is not very helpful). This video makes it easy. Very good video.

  • Great vid Brandon!

I got lucky with mine. It has always played along with the game of "take apart".

  • Awesome videooo !

  • Well that was clear...nice job!

  • nice video

  • Excellent Video!

     God Bless

    Semper Fi

  • Best Ruger field stip on youtube hands down. Those tricks with the mainspring housing will save people alot of time and frustration.

  • Thanks. My wife has one and I just usually clean the barrel. Now I feel I can give it a proper cleaning.

  • I had a Mark III hunter that looking at the manual had me stuck and two friends stuck for two hours. It took a You Tube video to illustrate how to get the hammer down to reassemble. It is one of my favorites to plink with and very fun to shoot. Once you know the secret it is a gun you can clean and put together.

  • Excellent! -- Nice looking pistol by the way!

  • 3:25 go in from the rear from the back LOL

  • I just bought one of these (non-bull bbl) for my wife yesterday. We had a devil of a time trying to follow the instructions to take it apart to clean it after the range. A few youtube videos helped, but this is MUCH clearer. Wish you'd posted this yesterday afternoon!

I ran into all the little "hiccoughs" you described.

  • 3:24 always come in from the rear then push it forward lol

  • N1 Man!!\

  • Cool, very informative video. Nice job.

  • Best demo I've ever seen

  • @MONNIEHOLT Thanks

  • OH NO, NOT ME!! I've tried this on a Mark 2 and on two other Mark 3's. They shoot good, but putting one back together is from the pits of HELL. I just pull the bolt back and spray some CLP and put her back in the safe. I'd rather rebuild a 350 than mess with these nightmares. But, good video!

  • did anybody else try to smash the bugs at the beginning of the video... i sure tried then i realized they were actually on the video and not on my computer

  • great video sir

  • nice video very informative

  • Great video, I remember the 1st time taking my MKIII down it about drove me crazy trying to get it back together.

  • Cool! Don't have one but if I get one now I know.

  • I am putting this in my favorites so I can find it easily when I need it, lol. Great video. Simple and to the point.

  • @glynn72 Thanks my friend, I appreciate you watching.

  • Thank you - VERY helpful.

  • @dcselwitz Thanks for watching

  • putting in a Mark II trigger kit will allow you to not have to use the mag to field strip. Volcor is great .

  • @pr4runner I am going to remove the magazine disconnect, Future video.

  • I got my Mark II about the time the first Apple computers hit the market. Information on how to get one back together wasn't a computer click away. You would be surprised how long you can fiddle with one before you learn to "make it dangle to be able to go in". Good video.

  • wow.... you suck. i had gone nearly a year with being able to keep myself from seeing a mark III and in turn wanting to get one horribly bad...

    you suck!

  • nice let me know when you have more videos coming out keep your powder dry

  • Excellent video Brandon very detailed ,you made it look like fun

  • @GARYMANDIEVAN Thanks buddy, I appreciate you watching

  • shoot it shoot it

  • @jsnyara next video :)

  • Which model is that? My Mark III looks much different (target model) and always a bear to take down and re-assemble.

  • @donnya1000 his is a 22/45 model with the threaded barrel if you ever want to add a suppressor i believe.

  • I dont even own this thing and I watched the whole video. lol

  • @AMT4245 I appreciate you watching.

  • Make me want to buy one of these pistols :)

  • @ArtisanTony if you do be warned its is the hardest thing to get apart and reasemble the experts make it look easy when i had to bring mine to a gunsmith just to get it reassembled

  • @samerjam101 If Brandon can do it I can :) If I can get my old Colt 1911 apart and back together I can handle this little pistol :)

  • @ArtisanTony you and TNoutdoors9 are missing out :)

  • @Brandon401401 lol, some how I don't feel sorry for big foot :)

  • 22/45 model.....I was going to ask, but that was answered with a visual around the 4 minute mark. There is a dealer in Nashville that has been selling these for a ridiculously low price....it has been tempting. If I buy one, I know where to send it for cleaning! I'll send you some goodies!

WILL CLEAN GUNS IN EXCHANGE FOR TANNERITE

  • @tnoutdoors9 LOL Your comments never get old my friend. You def. need one to go with your 10/22.

  • Hey Brandon, just picked up the exact pistol today at the gun shop. Haven't decided what sight I want yet. Can't wait till my form 4 clears.

  • @Big45Wes I just recieved a Bushnell TRS-25 for mine today. I dont think you can beat it for the price. I might do a unboxing / mounting video.

  • great vid thanks

  • thank you Brandon. very much appreciated. i will save this video for sure. take care.

  • @megajeeplover Your welcome my friend. Thanks for watching

  • These are fun gun esp if you like working on guns :) First time I broke my old Mark 3 down I was new to pistols... I got the bright idea to start punching pins out, I'm sure you can imagine how that went.

  • @mrwhite4 Hahaha, I understand the pain.

  • Once you do it a few times, it's easy.

  • @rifleslol Thats what she said :D

  • @heintron Maybe that's what they say to someone swole like you! :)

  • @rifleslol I Agree!

  • Great

  • @picklezupyurnose Thanks for watching

  • @Brandon401401 im actually trying to get my own ruger mk iii so this video was actually very informative and helpful for if and when i do get it. thank you!!
